Well you can just very well pick any instrument but these are my thoughts as to why should one learn guitar. To compare with, lets take piano or keyboard. Piano tends to require some knowledge of music theory, but guitar tends playing something recognizable right away.In Piano the notes are all straight next to each other and may be easier for people to visualise, whereas on the guitar, the same note can be at 5 different places on the fretboard, something daunting for first time learners. However, some of the technical aspects of guitar playing are easier than piano at first, which is why Guitar is easier. Besides guitar is cheaper as far as prices go and more convenient to carry and easy to tune too. You may not require rapid fingers if all you''re playing is chords. What you like better is all up to you. A guitar player and his guitar hold love hate relationship but in no time, the guitar becomes really fun once you know how to play it.
