Even though the heat was intense, the food was extremely flavorful, which made the spice feel enjoyable rather than overwhelming. The place has a huge dining space and is completely self-serve, you pick up your own plates, spoons, water, etc. We ordered: • Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani – $18.99 • Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani – $14.99 • Chicken 65 – $12.99 The mutton biryani was good with well-cooked, tender pieces. The chicken biryani, however, was very light and lacked flavor, almost no masala at all. The Chicken 65 was okay, but the excess food coloring was a turn-off. Overall, it wasn’t a very satisfying experience. Sharing some pictures from our visit.

Rated 5.0 We did a take out and the food was really tasty and fresh we ordered the family pack Mutton biryani and the Haleem both reminded us of the proper Authentic Hyderabadi flavor , The Manager Mr. Moiz was extremely nice and friendly . We did see few bad reviews posted recently and were surprised to see it was nothing like what was mentioned ,On the day of our pick up we did see some people acting like freeloaders trying to get free food by complaining about the quality of biryani and trying to harass the staff over there and even threatening to post bad reviews online and we were skeptical to try by watching them but when we got home and tried it was actually really good. I hope people stop doing such scam practices and be honest and genuine. Overall great experience Deccan we will be back soon.

The last time I paid that kind of price for Biriyani was in Santa Clara, CA. The food was good but I don’t think middle class working family can eat here on weekly basis. 2025 Review- 3 years back I gave this place 2 star, but looks this place has completely charged for good. Haydrabadi Biriyani was the best. It’s best to eat in the restaurant than to take out. The quality and quality both met my expectations. Best to eat after they open for lunch or when dinner start.

Rated 5.0 Oh man, this place definitely lives up to the hype and I'm so glad I decided to try it out. I'll admit, as a white dude, I have no idea what authentic tastes like but man this Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani was the most delicious Chicken Biryani I've ever had and I imagine this is what real authentic tastes like. Oh and the portion was HUGE. I can eat a lot but there was no way I was finishing all that. I ate all the chicken and put a dent in the rice but there's enough rice to feed at least 3 people. I ate as much as I could and still brought home a take-home box full of rice. I finished my meal off with a mango lassi which was just the perfect cherry on top. I can't wait to come back! It's probably a good thing for myself that I don't live closer to Irving or I'd end up going broke from eating here every day. Just FYI If you can't handle spicy well, be careful. I have a high tolerance for spice and I didn't find the food too spicy (in fact, it was honestly the perfect amount of spice), but I know some people would think it was too spicy. For me it was just the right amount to give you a little bit of sniffles every now and then and a slight tingle on your lips. Anyways, I'm making myself hungry again just talking about it even though I just left. Guess I'll go dig into those leftovers! I rate it an easy 1000/10

The rice was flavorful, and the chicken was soft and tender — the taste reminded me of the biryani I had at Shadab in Hyderabad, which says a lot about its authenticity. However, the ambience could definitely use some work. The place had broken floors and overall didn’t feel very inviting. With such great food, improving the interior would really enhance the overall dining experience. Great food, but I hope they upgrade the space to match the quality of their dishes!

We ordered the family pack mutton biryani (classic move) and it arrived fresh, hot, and smelling like heaven . Tons of tender meat, tons of masala. We went a bit late (4 PM ish) so the biryani was swimming in that extra masala goodness, exactly how I dream of it at night . Now, yeah, a few tiny cons ??. They give you these super tiny styrofoam plates ?? like those sad little breakfast plates. We begged for a bigger plate so many times... they gave it once... one time... like it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing ??. So this time we just big-brained it and carried our own steel lunch plates from home like pros. Raita? Meh. More like malai-cream vibes , not real curd. Chicken 65? Rated 4.0 My friends and I recently tried the family pack goat biryani, butter naans, haleem, and palak curry at Deccan Grill in Irving. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Two staff members assisted us with our order. they were both friendly and patient. All the dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The prices seemed a bit high, but the quality of the food made it worthwhile. If you're a fan of goat biryani, this place is definitely worth a visit.

For mutton dum biryani is the great option.i like the chicken biryani but quality of chicken is not that great when compared to other biryani restaurants. Haleem is good. We odered haleem, chicken 65 and a mixed mandi. Haleem was fantastic and close to authentic recipe. Rated 5.0 Trust me. Chicken 65 Biryani. 15$ plus the Naan . Phenomenal dish and it literally is enough to feed me the entire day plus some. One of my favorite dishes of all time and keeps me coming back for more. I also take off white sauce but some people enjoy it so do as you will.

This restaurant’s Karachi Biryani was absolutely to die for!!! I got the mutton. I don’t know how on earth anyone would think otherwise. I am visiting from San Antonio, and am going back here before heading home to get the family size order. They also make this special secret brownish sauce that is intended for their Hyderabad biryani, it is crazy awesome. Come hungry, because the amount of food you get is massive!!! One order could easily feed three people. I also ordered garlic naan bread, and the chicken tikka masala to go. The cost for all was around $37. What I have learned as a professional reviewer is that ya really can’t trust reviews, ironic but true. Other reviews show a bug in the food, and how it was greasy, etc. I am not sure if these are erroneous reviews by the local competition, but I can assure you that my experience was the complete opposite. Some commented that the employees were racist or bigots. I am a white guy, and we are the most hated in the US currently. The employees that helped me were very sweet and kind to me. Not sure if it was a Indo vs Paki thing (I am aware of the feud), but they were more than excellent per my experience. I will be back for sure 100%!!!! Even if I found a bug or hair in my order, I wouldn’t care. Yeah, it’s that good!!! Also the India Bazaar next door is awesome. Rated 5.0 Brought my in-laws who were visiting us from out of town. Biryani was awesome and authentic Hyderabadi and not what you get at other place which have more spice but not authentic flavor. Chicken 65 had less salt and less corn layer. When I asked the person who served us, she just said manager is not available but the person who was at the counter replaced the dish with chicken tikka immediately and was very polite. Highly recommended the place for authenticity and catering orders.

It really tastes like Hyderabadi walime ki biryani May Allah reward the chef and staff of deccan grill. Moiz Bhai and Fatima sister are friendly and service is excellent.

Rated 4.0 Visited Deccan Grill in Irving and ordered the Goat Haleem Special, which comes with Chicken 65. The taste of the haleem was absolutely delicious – rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. However, the Chicken 65 was a bit of a letdown as it was overcooked and over colored with Red, Overall, the experience was good, but I hope they improve the Chicken 65 in the future. The ambiance and service were commendable, making it a worthwhile visit.

Edit: Owner has responded well for my initial review and I tasted the same biryani for the 2nd time. It tastes amazing. Authentic style Hyderabad Biryani.

While the paneer biryani was not as impressive, I must say something about the chicken biryani and Tikka—they were absolutely amazing! The first bite transported me straight to Hyderabad; it was that good. I've never experienced such authentic biryani in the USA since I moved here. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the service.Mohammed the manager, was incredibly friendly and even offered us free dessert, which was delicious. The hospitality and the taste of the biryani were beyond words. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Kudos to the Deccan Grill team !
