dgn FACTORY, previously known as The Dosa Factory, is a contemporary, fast casual, 100% vegetarian, authentic South Indian restaurant focusing primarily on Dosas, Idlis and Vadas. dgn FACTORY is the invention of Niraj Shah, co-owner of a successful, family owned Indian Restaurant. Niraj, came up with this concept while selling freshly made dosas in a food booth at a traditional event inside the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Diners were able to watch as their dosa was made. Niraj thought, “Why not create a similar atmosphere where diners can see the food as it’s made and learn about the particular dish they order?” The seed for “dgn FACTORY” was sewn in October of 2012. On September 30, 2013, that seed grew in to the beginning of the Revolution.
Rated 4.0 The dosa is great and they are made fresh to order. You can pick the spicy level to make it fit for everyone. It is not a full serve restaurant but after you order from the counter they will bring out the food when it is ready.
Rated 4.0 The dosas certainly vary in terms of quality as some ingredient mixes work better than others, but the portions are generous, the prices good, there's a large selection, and the food is generally delicious. They also have complementary lentil soup which is pretty nice. I make this a regular for casual dining.
Rated 4.0 Been here quite a lot of times, I like the chilli paneer dosa. Besides that I noticed that this restaurant didn't seem to have a Baby changing station, noticed it as one of my friends had trouble changing her baby and had to go to her car instead. Just wanted to bring this to the owner's notice! Thank you!
Rated 4.0 I visited this place with a friend of mine a few months back, and the food was pretty solid. The portions are filling, and the food isn't overly oily - which can be a concern with this kind of food! Definitely going back
