About Dr. Anant Kumar MD
Dr. Kumar is Board Certified in Orthopedics. Dr. Kumar's professional organizational memberships include the North American Spine Society, the Scoliosis Research Society, and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Colorado Orthopedic Society, the Colorado Medical Society, and the Denver Medical Society. He specializes in adult degenerative cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery, pediatric spine surgery, scoliosis, and complex spinal deformity. Unlike any other orthopedic surgeon in the country, Dr. Kumar has had additional subspecialty training in Orthopedics through four fellowships, a grueling process requiring an additional five years of training. Since 1986 Dr. Kumar has performed orthopedic and spinal surgeries for non-profit organizations in many third world countries including Peru, Malawi, Kenya, Laos, the Dominican Republic, and Vietnam. He continues to provide voluntary medical services for a minimum of two weeks every year.

Rated 1.0 This doctor is not good to visit. He messed up my surgery and now i have to suffer all my life. His office staff is unprofessional and want to get you out so they can focus on the next patient waiting. Do you go to this doctor if you care for your loved one or yourself.

Rated 5.0 In 2007 I was in a career(26yr US Army Helicopter pilot) ending accident. I shattered the inside portion of S1, L5 dislodged toward my stomach, and 6 compression end plate fractures at T11 and T12. Those were just the bone problems, nerve damage was extreme. It took, 5 years with 6 long spine surgeries, 30 minor procedures and a spinal cord implant to get me up right and walking fairly normal. Without Dr. Kumar, I would not be leading an active lifestyle of any sort. He is patient, answers all questions, finds and attempts to repair root causes, both skeletal and nerve. His staff was friendly, professional and exceeded my expectations.

Rated 5.0 My son has been seeing Dr. Kumar for about ten years for scoliosis. In that time Dr. Kumar has been extremely knowledgeable and caring. He also speaks in a easy to understand manner. His skill as a surgeon is incredible. We are so thankful we found Dr. Kumar for our son. He is really amazing.

Rated 5.0 Dr. Kumar is by far the best doctor I have been to in any situation. He is very passionate and he truly cares for his patients. I went and saw him after I had a botched surgery from another doctor and Dr. Kumar was able to help. He was referred to me by another doctors office and they said he was the best and I agree without a doubt. It has been 7 years since I've had my last surgery and I have had no issues like I did before I met Dr.Kumar. I am playing hockey again and playing to the level I was before the surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Kumar to anyone that has spinal issues and if you want a good laugh because he sense of humor is good as well.

Rated 1.0 At first I though it was altruism- his visits to his native India to do some 'outreach work' per his receptionist. Then I went to see him. It was unreal.....I have seen a number of Orthopedic Specialists due to an auto accident many years ago. Never have I left a doctor's office feeling so low. I was prepared, on time- actually waited an extra two hours because he 'had emergency surgery'-, not emotional, and open to receiving his expert opinion. He actually shouted at me, belittled me even! It was beyond bizarre. I've only left two reviews of orthopedic surgeons ever, and this is one. You are in too much pain to invest your time and effort here. Keep looking, I did and eventually I did find the right doctor. Maybe google about the malpractice suit against him. Maybe I got lucky that he was so nasty up front.
