The Indian Classical Music Circle of Austin (ICMCA) a Non-Profit 501©(3) organization, was founded first in 1975, and then revived again in 1991 by music-lovers in Austin, TX, with the mission of bringing the very best of Indian classical music and dance to Central Texas. Since 1991, ICMCA has geared up 100+ concerts in Austin, with cumulative attendance at events exceeding 40,000. Our performers are typically Indian classical musicians/dancers journeying the united states. In addition to those live shows, we also on occasionally feature chamber-music events that are free and open to the public, almost always proposing a neighborhood, talented newbie artist. We also as a rule behavior free lecture demonstrations workshops for the general public 1-2 days before our concert events, or on the day of the concert some 30 minutes earlier than the formal begin. ICMCA also strives very hard to be able to present the Indian Music and Dance in Central Texas to underserved audiences as well. In this regard, we continue to target senior citizens and recreation centers (run by the City of Austin) who have expressed an interest in attending select events that have an appeal to them. We offer a 50% discount to seniors and have proposed to these centers that we would be willing to sell them blocks of tickets for an additional discount.
