Swararambh offers Hindustani classical music classes in the Northern California, Evergreen, and San Jose area. The goal of these classes is to teach students the basics of Indian classical music, prepare them for Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya certification exams and heighten their interest in Indian music. Swararambh is also proud to be affiliated with the renowned Tablaniketan of the San Francisco Bay Area. Individual, online and group lessons are offered by Ushma Vahia. Ushma Vahia gave her first vocal performance on the stage at the age of 7 without any initial training. Her love towards Hindustani Classical music was initiated at C. N. Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad and it gave her encouragement to give Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya Mandal (ABGMV) exams. She has continued her advance Hindustani classical vocal learning. Ushma has won many music competitions in India. Being a versatile singer and a harmonium player, she has developed her expertise in Hindustani Classical, Semi-classical, Bhajans, Gazals, Film songs, Raas - Garba etc. Ushma has performed all over the United States and India.
