About The Hindu Temple And Cultural Society Of Southern Illinois

The Hindu Temple and Cultural Society of Southern Illinois is a non profit organization promoting Hinduism and Culture. Individuals from various religions and cultures are always welcome to partake in the temple activities. Donors are requested to contact any of the committee members. Temple Puja Services like Archana, Navagraha archana, Vrathas,Satyanarayana puja (saamuhikha/group), Homa, Annaprasanam, Wedding, Seemantham and many more are conducted in temple premisses. For scheduling services please call Padma Chandrashekar or or Subhash Sharma. Please add $75 extra for all puja services offered outside of the temple. It is your responsibility to provide transportation for the priest. You may contact the temple priest to discuss the auspicious time, puja materials etc. You will get a confirmation e-mail from Padma Chandrashekar or Subhash Sharma after you contact them.

Rated 5.0 In my five months stay at Carbondale ( Illinois State of USA) I visited this temple four or five times along with my wife , daughter , both my grandchildren and son in law and it was full of excitement and enthusiasm. Inside the temple there are statues of Lord Shiva , Mata Parvati Ganeshji , Lord Rama, Mata Sita , Laxmanji , Hanumanji , Lord Krishna and Radha , Shirdi Saaienbaba and so many other deities. When you are inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple n it is totally a different feeling , full of solace n peace of mind. We also participated there on the eve of Holi n happened to meet so many people from India n local people also , people from different countries who have either adopted Hinduism or have become part of our culture by way of marriage or their liking for our way of life as friends or colleagues. It was full of joy n nice time pass for us. Organisers who are young people from India working as doctors , professors , engineers and from various fields had organised in very well way. Had managed refreshments cold drinks etc for all . It was a great fun overall .
