About University Medical Care
The vision of University Medical Care started when I moved to Tampa, FL from Philadelphia, PA in July 1987, to start community based Internal Medicine practice. I opened University Medical Care in January 1990 as a two physician practice. In 1992, we expanded in South Tampa and bought another practice. In 2003, we opened a new location in Citrus Park area and Dr. Shital Mehta from New Jersey joined me. In 2007, we bought the practices of Dr. Frank Tagliarini and Dr. Leon Mitchell in New Tampa and Dr. Sam Scolaro in Brandon, FL. We also opened a new location in Wesley Chapel in 2008. We serve the Tampa Bay area with 4 locations.Our vision is to provide superior & comprehensive medical care. Currently in our practices, we have 6 Physicians and 2 Nurse Practitioners. University Medical Care is also known as The Diabetic Treatment Center of Tampa.
