Rated 2.0  My hot water heater sprung a major leak and water was running out under my garage door. I should have taken notice when their dispatch couldn't quote me even a reasonable guess as to what the replacement would cost. The tech arrived promptly, but even though I'd specified that I'd need the heater replaced, they hadn't inquired as to the size and we were forced to wait for someone else to bring a water heater out as there were none on the dispatched truck. The quoted rate was over 4x the cost of the water heater, a cost justified by "required code changes" that would need to be performed. As far as I could tell, the only changes made were to cut off all the pipes from the wall and replace them with ones with a new shutoff valve, certainly not horrendously expensive parts. The work was professionally performed, but I was left feeling like I was over billed by at least $500

Rated 5.0  Kim has done work for us over several years. He has always been very helpful, not just with the work done but with additional suggestions to help us with other plumbing issues. Kim responded today to our call that we had a slow leak under our kitchen sink that showed up after several months when we noticed water damage to our hardwood floor. It appears that after Ben Franklin replace our garbage disposal in November. a drain connection has been leaking and damaged the cabinet under the sink as well as the floor. Kim cleaned and secured the leaking connection and took pictures of the damage and took them to his office. Kim called us later today to tell us that his management declined any responsibility for the damage because we were too late reporting the damage. We did call when the damage was visible. We are very pleased with Kim's work but we are VERY disappointed in Ben Franklin after being a customer for many years and being a service contract holder

Rated 5.0  Review from 10/6/16 service: Chad was incredible. I was upset due to the flood of water building up in my yard. After an SOS call to Benjamin Franklin, we had a knowledgeable technician come to our house right away. Chad took the time to fully assess the situation, and it turned out our problem was a faulty pressure regulator and an irrigation pipe that was leaking. Chad explained all the options and helped us understand the ins and outs of each solution. He also told us about their Ben's Society Member Benefits plan, as well as their water heater plan. That alone will end up saving us hundreds of dollars once we replace the water heater within the year. Thank you, Chad! You are a great asset to this company!
