About Charlotte Chess Center & Scholastic Academy
The Charlotte Chess Center & Scholastic Academy (CCCSA), founded in March of 2014, serves as a place where members of all ages and skill levels can congregate and enjoy the royal game of chess. The CCCSA also sells basic chess supplies and has an open library of over 700 books. The CCCSA serves as an educational hub for chess in the Charlotte area; offering camps, classes and lectures year round. The CCCSA runs weekly and monthly chess events such as weekly rated play, special events, lectures, classes, weekend tournaments. The CCCSA is constantly making efforts to create partnerships with local and national educational programs to further the expansion of chess not only locally but nationally. The Charlotte Chess Center and Scholastic Academy offers a variety of classes to varying ages and skill levels. All classes, unless noted otherwise, last a total of six weeks where participants come once a week. If participants must miss a week, they may make it up during the same class offered at a different time that week. If another class is not offered, the instructor will provide supplementary self-help work to help the student make up what was missed. We will be offering classes where our more advanced students can learn along with National Master Peter Giannatos (and occasionally other CCCSA Masters). His professional knowledge combined with years of experience can give our students what they have been lacking for years. These Master classes give our higher level students a chance to train on a regular basis.

Rated 5.0 As a chess International Master I've been to many chess clubs around the US, and I can say unequivocally that the Charlotte Chess Center is one of the absolute best. Peter Giannatos and his staff do an outstanding job offering classes, tournaments, casual play, and community outreach in a friendly and positive environment. Take advantage of this club if you're in the Charlotte area!

Rated 5.0 If only I didn't live 90 miles away in Winston-Salem, I'd come a lot more frequently. Wonderful chess library and enough boards (and clocks!) for everyone!
