About Commonwealth Primary Care LLC

Our primary care office provides excellent health care to patients of all ages, including babies, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. We work with our patients to help manage chronic diseases, to care for urgent problems, and to maintain good health through preventive care. Dr. Mallavarapu earned her medical degree from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India and completed her residency in family medicine at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia where she received several "Top Dog" awards. In addition, she has her Master’s degree in Public Health from Emory University with a major in Health Policy and Management. She is board-certified in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine. Prior to joining Commonwealth Primary Care, Dr. Mallavarapu was an attending physician at Piedmont Physicians at Jasper, at Shashi Hospital for Women and Children in Hyderabad, India. She also has experience in emergency medicine, urgent care medicine, healthcare consulting and project management. Dr. Mallavarapu was awarded Bridges to Excellence Recognition Award for Diabetes care in 2011 and currently has 2013-2015 Bridges to Excellence Recognition Awards for Diabetes Care, Hypertension Care and Physician Office Systems. Dr. Mallavarapu is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians and Medical Association of Georgia. Dr. Mallavarapu takes a patient-centered approach to care. She believes patient involvement leads to better health outcomes. Having previously worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), she believes strongly in following CDC guidelines and evidence based medicine. Among her many interests in medicine, she has a special interest in diabetes management, women’s health, pediatric care and preventive medicine.
