Horus is an excellent vocal instructor, with many years of performance and teaching experience in jazz, R& B and opera. He is extremely patient and kind, always willing to share his expertise and many experiences with his students. I feel that not only has my singing improved, but that I have also gained valuable insights about the music business and performance art. Horus is also a composer, jazz pianist and music producer. I highly recommend the Horus School of Music for beginners and advanced students alike!

Perhaps one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life was studying at The Horus School of Music. While I always enjoyed singing and performing, after just a few lessons with Hours, I found a newfound control of my voice and a greater breadth of expression. Horus is always supportive, patient and specific about how to reach singing and performing goals. He is educated both formally and in the School of Life as a performer, a composer, and a producer. He has helped others rise to greatness in the musical world. Both individual and group instruction was helpful to me. After several years of study, I was able to organize and perform my own Cabaret Shows in San Francisco and the SF Bay Area. Eventually, I was honored to be a guest instructor for The Horus School of Music; another experience that I value greatly. I recommend that anyone interested in furthering their musical talents check out The Horus School of Music right away; no matter who you are, Horus can help.

I had the pleasure to study at the Horus School of Music with Horus Jack Tolson as my voice teacher from 1988 through 1995 in San Francisco. In addition to taking one on one voice classes, I also was fortunate to participate in various courses over the years, such as the Sing With A Band course and the Lead and Background Singing course, both of which were truly amazing experiences I will never forget.
The quality of the lessons and personal guidance I received from Horus have formed the basis of everything I know about singing and performing, so I am happy to recommend the Horus School of Music to other singers who really are serious about improving the quality of their singing and performing on stage. I have been singing for most of my life but never had the confidence to do anything with it. I met up with Horus and and all that changed for me. Not only did I learn how to use and expand my voice in order to find my "true voice" I gained that confidence to go out on stage and peform solo with no hesitation. This is a tremendous advancement in my singing life. Not only did I gain the confidence but I got a voice that I never knew that I could have. Finding your voice is an amazing breakthrough in any singer's life and I owe that growth to the years that I have studied with Horus. I went from being a very low pitch singer to one that can go into the soprano range which just amazes me to no end. But more importantly it enabled me to create my own unique voice that only I can produce. Finding that voice is no easy task but the breakthrough that comes from the hard work and focus truly pays off. All of this would not have been possible without Horus instruction and guidance in the proper technique and freedom of expression to be the best singer that I can be.
