About Shri Venkatesa Gurukkal

Shri Venkatesa Gurukkal underwent his Veda Education at the school for Veda Sivaagamam at Allur near Trichy in Tamilnadu, India. He served as the Chief Priest at the “Shri Maariamman Temple” at Singapore before he came to US. Shri Gurukkal came to the US and served at the Ganesh Temple at Flushing for 2 years. He joined HTGC- Lemont temple in Chicago here he is currently serving in the Ganesh, Shiva, Durga Sannidhis. Shri Gurukkal specializes in “Saiva Aagamam”. He has performed over 500 Kumbabishekams in Tamilnadu, Bombay, Singapore and at the HTGC at Lemont, IL. He also specializes in special alankaarams using some of the less common materials. He also can sing a lot of songs from the Tamil works like “ThiruVaasagam” as they are used in temple worship.
