Welcome! This is where you learn all about me, Amanda. I’ll be honest that this is a challenge since I don’t like being the center of attention but, it’s important that you get to know your wedding planner and choose one whose personality and working style is a good fit to your own.I came into wedding planning by accident. I worked for one of the top restaurant groups in the Triangle running their catering division for eight years. It was a great job of overseeing almost 400 events a year, anything from small corporate dinners to galas for over 500 people. During that time I found that my passion was weddings. I loved the joy, energy, happiness, and even the insane number of details surrounding each one! After being told over and over by clients and friends that wedding planning should be my direction I took the plunge and opened A Swanky Affair in 2009. Since then I have coordinated and planned over 200 weddings. My passion is to get to know my clients and their personality. I don’t think that every wedding should be the same. Whether you want a blush pink and gold ballroom wedding or something more eclectic and colorful, it should be about you. I take pride in the fact that my clients and my portfolio are very diverse. I also believe that we are a team in the planning process. I’m not here dictate how a wedding should be done. Rather, I’m here to educate you about all of the options, all of the pros and cons, and to let you make the final decision. You can rest assured that I am on top of all the details but, you have a say every step of the process. I truly believe in quality over quantity and take on a limited number of weddings a year so you never need to worry there isn’t enough time for your wedding no matter how big or small.
