One of the most serene and spiritually uplifting devotional places in the San Jose area. During Sharannavaratri, I was truly blessed to have the opportunity to worship Sri Sharada Parameshwari here, in the presence of Priest Sri Venkatesh Bhat—a highly learned and respected pundit from Sringeri. The experience was deeply divine and memorable

I am deeply grateful to Pandit Venkateshji for his dedication in helping me perform monthly rituals (masigam) at my home throughout the year, 2024-25. His unwavering commitment to ensuring continuity—whether he's in the Bay Area or in India—has been truly commendable. Conducting these monthly rituals has brought me great peace of mind. The location at Alviso is ideal for spiritual practices. It offers a serene atmosphere with ample parking and is an independent unit. There’s well-maintained space specifically designated for poojas and rituals, making this an excellent option for those who may not have the necessary facilities at home

An excellent place to perform any Vedic ritual. The community center is very well maintained and has plenty of parking, which makes it extremely convenient for families and larger gatherings. The priests here carry the legacy and tradition of Sringeri Sharada Peetha, and it truly reflects in the way every ritual is conducted — with great patience, discipline, and absolutely no shortcuts. Everything is done as per shastra, creating a very peaceful and spiritually uplifting experience. I would also like to especially mention Sri Venkatesh Bhat. I have known him for the past 20 years, and he has performed all types of rituals for our family over the years. We have been completely satisfied with his services every single time. He is extremely knowledgeable, calm, and meticulous. I highly recommend him for any puja, havana, or sharddha rituals.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the services provided by Shri Venkatesh Bhatt during our mother’s 14-day death(shraddha) rituals. All ceremonies were conducted at the Shankara mutt and Sringeri Sharada Community Center in Alviso, CA. This venue offers a quiet, private, peaceful, and convenient setting near the Guadalupe River for performing the rituals and making the offerings. Priest Venkatesh Bhatt provided a clear daily plan for the rituals and supplied all necessary materials, including new pancha and dhoti for my brothers who were performing the rites. He was patient, knowledgeable, and thorough in explaining each rite. He personally came to our home, the cremation ground, and the funeral home to perform the required ceremonies, and also arranged the 12th-day lunch for our extended family at his residence . We are very pleased with his services and his flexibility in modifying plans as necessary and operating across multiple venues. We are grateful for the dignified and comforting manner in which he conducted these rituals. We highly recommend him to families seeking traditional and well-performed Hindu rites.

I had the blessed opportunity to visit Shri Sharada Peeta in Sringeri, and I must say, the experience was truly divine. The location is surrounded by nature’s beauty—nestled on the banks of the Tunga River and embraced by the calmness of the Western Ghats. The atmosphere of the Peetha is extremely peaceful, and the spiritual energy of the place is deeply felt the moment you enter the premises. The temple architecture, the sacred surroundings, and the disciplined maintenance reflect the heritage and sanctity of this holy site. What touched me most was the graceful and serene environment, which offers a perfect space for prayer, reflection, and inner peace. The presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya adds to the spiritual strength of the place, and the arrangements for devotees are done with great care and respect. I sincerely recommend a visit to this sacred Peetha to anyone seeking peace, blessings, and a spiritually enriching experience. It is not just a place of worship, but a centre of tradition, learning, and divine connection.

A very old and nice temple to visit along the sides of the Tunga River. Good place to spend half a day of time here. Activities you can do: - Temple visit (3-4). In the Main temple, you need Panche n shallya for mens and dress/ saree for womens to go near the deity. - feeding the river fishes(you can get churmuri, bread scrum packets outside) - take a bath in the river near the parking lot. If the water is more, you need supervision for kids. - Cross the river on the bridge and visit the Peetha of swamiji. - Room booking : The temple has a lot of room facilities, please book in advance as rooms will be full on the weekend. There are private lodges also around in case you need it.

My family and I visited Sringeri Temple on the last day. We had a fantastic day, arriving at 1:55 pm and enjoying the temple annadhana around 2:30 pm. Afterward, we relaxed at the temple, taking advantage of the many affordable rooms available. These rooms were of high quality, offering great value for money as they included two beds, a separate dressing room, a separate bathroom, a separate toilet, and two extra bedsheets. The temple was peaceful, allowing us to pray calmly and appreciate its beautiful architecture. We took some wonderful pictures and enjoyed another annadhana at 7:30 pm, which lasted until 8:30 pm. The river Tunga nearby was teeming with fish, including the famous meenuttu. It was truly an amazing day spent with my family at this beautiful temple.

The Sringeri Sharadamba Peetha, nestled on the banks of the pristine Tunga River in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka, is one of the most sacred and culturally significant temples in India. Established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, it stands as the first of the four major Advaita mathas and is dedicated to Goddess Sharadamba, the divine embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and learning. The main deity here is Sharadamba, a graceful and powerful form of Saraswati, beautifully adorned in a gold idol seated on a Sri Chakra. Adjacent to her sanctum lies the temple of Sri Vidyashankara, which blends Dravidian and Hoysala architectural styles, housing twelve zodiacal pillars that align with the sun’s rays during specific times of the year—a breathtaking scientific marvel from centuries ago. What adds to the spiritual richness of this temple is the divine prasadam— the coconut burfi and other traditional items symbolizing abundance and fulfillment. It isn’t just a blessing; it’s a sacred tradition passed through generations, believed to bring peace, knowledge, and prosperity. The temple complex is immaculately maintained, with daily Vedic chanting, poojas, and a deeply serene atmosphere. The entire town of Sringeri revolves around the Peetha, and scholars, students, and pilgrims alike flock here in search of divine grace and inner awakening. The riverfront ghats provide a peaceful setting for reflection, and the nearby bridge offers scenic views of the temple complex. Whether you are spiritually inclined, culturally curious, or simply looking for peace, Sringeri Sharadamba Peetha is an unforgettable experience. The vibrations here are divine, the heritage is profound, and the blessings are everlasting. A must-visit destination for every true seeker.

Goddess Shardamba temple Built by Shankaracharya, Feels divine and blessed after visiting here. Akshara abyasam is done for small kids for the first time. Situated beside the Thungabhadra river. The only thing which hurts is very worst management rude behaviour from security guys. They change the rules according to there’s wish every time. Recently when I visited they asked all the people to wear Dhotis for men which was not there before. The joke part is the security people wear pants and they are asking people to wear dhotis. This is the fate of normal people. Make sure to wear Dhotis if not then get it near the entrance of the temple. May goddess bless the Management… Parking is available at some price which is far from the temple.

A Memorable Visit for Akshara Abhyasa: Our recent visit was particularly special as we went with family for my daughter's Akshara Abhyasa. For this ritual, it's essential to book tickets in advance. The kids absolutely loved the river view from the bridge, captivated by the numerous fish swimming by. In the evening, the illuminated bridge was a beautiful sight. Bharath, Advaita, Adi Shankaracharya, Hinduism, Sanatana Dharma - all the words will lead you to Shrungagiri now called as Sringeri, in Karnataka. Adi Shankaracharya ( 7 to 8th century) lived for only32 years, spent most of His life in Sringeri, established the first Amnaya Peetham of the four Peetham (mutts) here in Sringeri. He was born in Kalady, Kerala and ascended Kailash from Kedar. This Peetham is regarded as Vyakhyana Simhasana, The Throne of Transcendental Wisdom. Thus mutt is earmarked for Yajur Veda. Mahavakya for the Peetham is 'Aham Brahmasmi'. This foremost Peetham among all 4 mutts had Sri Sureswaracharya as the first head and has an unbroken lineage with illustrious Gurus. Now it is adorned by His Holiness Sri Bharathi Teertha Mahasannidhanam (36th Peetathipathi) and His successor Sri Vidhushekara Bharathi Swamigal) who give guidance to aspirants. Called as Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetam it has the main deity Sri Sharada who was brought and installed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. This Peetham He founded at Sringeri in South India is for fostering the Vedas and the sacred tradition of Sanatana Dharma. Aim of these Mutt is, preserving and interpreting the sacred scriptures, training generations of spiritual teachers, guiding countless seekers on the path of Self-realization, maintaining the purity of dharmic traditions, responding to contemporary spiritual challenges with ancient wisdom Through these institutions, the revolutionary spiritual movement initiated by Sri Shankara for the propagation of Advaita Vedanta continues to flourish, adapting to changing times while remaining firmly rooted in eternal truth. The Amnaya Peethams serve as dynamic centers ensuring that the light of Sanatana Dharma will never be extinguished. It is reachable from Bangalore, or Mangalore or Shimoga or Udupi or Mysore or Chickmaglore by road. It was originally the ashram of sage Sri Rishya Shringa (hence got the name Shrungagiri) dating back to the Ramayana period. There are temples for Sri Rishya Shringa in Kigga (6 k.ms from Sringeri) and sage Sri Vibhandakar in Malahanikareswar temple inside Sringeri. There is a Jeeva Samadhi of Sri Vidyaranyar built on a iconic 'Vidya Shankar' temple a classic example of stone/ granite architecture under ASI. Navarathri festival is very famous and a grand event conducted here. Temples are managed by the mutt with excellent facilities for devotees. Lot of charity activities are also undertake. Free food is offered during noon and night. Rooms are available for stay now with online booking facilities. Acharyas live on the otherside of river Tunga giving darshan and religious guidance to devotees and conduct Sri Chandramouleeswara puja every night. Never miss visiting this serene Punya Bhoomi in your lifetime. Visit with your family to seek blessings from Acharyas and Sri Sharadamba. Wheelchair accessible and available right from Rajagopuram.

Fairly well maintained, including online sevas available. Annadanam was dismal though, though there were multiple donors listed for the day - rice, watery rasam, payasam and a curry. Can do more for devotees welfare and taking care. Some renovations and repairs are going on as of Jul 2025. Make sure to take along dhoti and panche, as there will be no entry near main Sharada temple and Guru Nivas otherwise, and that is enforced strictly.

?? About Sringeri Sharada Peetham Sringeri, a small temple town located on the banks of the Tunga River in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka. Founded by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century CE, Sringeri is one of the four cardinal mathas (monastic centers) established by him to revive and protect Sanatana Dharma and promote the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta. It is the first and foremost of the four mathas, representing the southern direction (Dakshina Amnaya Peetham). The other three are: Govardhan Math (Puri – East) Dwaraka Sharada Peetham (Dwaraka – West) Jyotir Math (Badrinath – North) Sringeri was chosen by Adi Shankaracharya after he witnessed a unique sight: a cobra spreading its hood to shelter a pregnant frog from the hot sun—a symbol of harmony and wisdom. This deeply moved him and inspired the establishment of the peetham in this spiritually rich region. The Peetham is dedicated to Goddess Sharadamba, the goddess of wisdom and learning—an incarnation of Saraswati. The Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham is a living tradition of Vedic learning, spiritual practice, and cultural preservation. It continues to follow an unbroken Guru Parampara (lineage of saints) since Adi Shankaracharya. The current Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Sringeri, the 36th in the lineage, is regarded as a guiding force in spiritual, philosophical, and social matters for millions of devotees. Sri Sharadamba Temple – A stunning Dravidian-style temple devoted to the Goddess of Knowledge. Vidyashankara Temple – Built in the 14th century, it’s a blend of Hoysala and Dravidian architecture, and a marvel of astronomical alignment. Tunga River Ghat – Serene riverbank used for rituals and spiritual cleansing. Sringeri Math Complex – Monastic buildings, Vedic schools (Pathashalas), libraries, and halls for discourse.

Sringeri Sharadamba Temple is one of the four monasteries established by Adiguru Shankaracharya! After years of waiting, hope and faith, I got the opportunity to visit Maa Sharadamba in this holy Dham. The gurgling stream of Tunga river flowing nearby gives a deep feeling of happiness and peace. This holy place located in the lap of nature is very picturesque! There are two main routes to reach Dakshinamnaya Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham... one is from the dense forests of Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. Entry is allowed with the permission letter of the administration, and the other one can reach here from the high peaks of Agumbe Hills without any permission. All the facilities of accommodation and food will be easily available. Sringeri is related to the famous sage Rishyashringa of Ramayana, who was the son of sage Vibhandak.

??All the great men who have ascended the Sringeri Peeth have also contributed greatly to this country by spreading Sanatana Dharma and by searching for worthy disciples and appointing them as the Uttaradhipats of the Peeth. ?The Peethadhipas who have ascended the Peeth and are leading the Dharma are truly great beings who have sanctified the whole of India, having equal fame with Shankara Bhagavatpada and truly being the embodiment of Sharada. ??The current Peethadhipas are Bharathi Tirtha Mahaswami's disciple Sri Sri Vidhusekhara Bharathi Swami. Having the darshan of such gurus and being blessed with their blessings cannot happen without the merit of several crores of births. ??There is a bus from Bangalore to reach here. After getting off the bus in Chikmagalur, from there you can go to Sringeri. There will be a bus as the director. After going to Sringeri, there is a very good accommodation hall and rooms on behalf of the Peetham. You can stay there for the night. The next day morning, take a bath in the Tungabhadra river, visit the temple and have darshan of Sarada Mata. Then at 10 am, Sri Sri Sri Vidhusekhara Bharathi Swam, the head of the Peetham, will come. After their darshan and prostration, the gate of the bridge over the Tungabhadra will be opened at 10 am. If you go inside from the bridge, you will find the Brindavan of the Gurus who have occupied the Sringeri Sarada Peetham. You must go there and have darshan.

To each and every Hindu person, my message is you will never find any Darshan tickets available only meditations will be offered for Darshan I paid 5000 for two days Darshan money is not going to the temple and maintainence is worst there is a board written saying that Dattharaya swamy will be there wherever there is cleanliness. You will never find cleanliness. Only Dattharaya Swamy should save this Temple.

An absolutely divine and spiritually rejuvenating experience! The Sringeri Sharada Devi Temple, on the serene banks of the Tunga river, is a place of immense tranquility. The main shrine of Goddess Sharadamba radiates a powerful, calming energy that quiets the mind and fills the heart with devotion. ?What makes Sringeri profoundly special is that it is a living center of Advaita Vedanta, guided by the revered Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji. The opportunity to have the darshana of the Acharya is a deeply blessed and humbling experience. His presence enriches the spiritual atmosphere, making you feel connected to an unbroken lineage of wisdom stretching back to Adi Shankaracharya himself. The entire complex, including the magnificent Vidyashankara Temple, is impeccably maintained. A truly complete spiritual pilgrimage.

I'm a Kannadiga and I've been visiting the temple from childhood. In my last visit I wasn't allowed to go near the idol since I wasn't following the new rules on dress code. I duly respect the dress code rules but wish these securities have some basic understanding of the rules in the first place. It's so disappointing to see such behaviour at temples. I was wearing a salwar but wasn't wearing a dupatta rather wearing a coat (traditional one with salwar). Security says, we should wear saree or complete salwar with dupatta. Whole point of dupatta is to cover your upper body which is done by the coat also. I really don't see the logic or why we aren't allowed. Holding a kid and wearing a dupatta is really difficult and that's why we try to wear something comfortable like a coat, jacket etc on salwar so that we can carry the kid during rainy season. Hopefully, sharadamba give these people some common sense too

Shri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sharda Peetham in Sringeri is truly a divine and soul-soothing destination. The moment you step into the mutt, you can feel an aura of peace and positivity all around. The darshan of Sharda Maa is a deeply spiritual experience, filling you with calmness and devotion. Equally mesmerizing is the darshan of Vidyashankar Mahadev, whose presence adds to the sacred charm of the place. One of the most delightful experiences is sitting by the serene banks of the Tunga river and feeding the beautiful fishes. It creates a sense of connection with nature and adds to the peaceful atmosphere of the visit. If you are fortunate, you may also get the darshan of Shankaracharya Ji himself. The special puja conducted by him is a divine moment to witness and leaves you with unforgettable spiritual vibrations. The entire mutt is filled with strong positive energy that rejuvenates the mind and soul. For those planning to stay, the guest houses within the temple premises are a great option. They are very clean, simple, and extremely budget-friendly, with rooms available at around ?400 per night. Overall, Sringeri offers a unique blend of devotion, peace, and comfort for every visitor ????

I felt Vidyashankara temple is very powerful and it is a marvelous monument of ancient architecture. For visiting the Sharadha temple, one should wear traditional dress like dhoti with uthareeyam etc. for men (pants, trousers, shirt etc are not allowed), churidar with dupatta or sari for women as prescribed by temple administration, to enter onto the Mandapa close to Sharadamba deity. Without wearing traditional dress, you can enter into the temple and do pradakshinam, but can't enter into the Mandapa, i.e. close to the diety, that's all. Still you can bow to devi, from a little far. Staff in Sharada temple are not friendly and does not explain what are the different offerings we can give to devi, immediately and get prasadam. But still we will get satisfaction to visit the place of Adi Shankaracharya. A very beautiful place, in my opinion. Annadanam is arranged by the temple authorities.

Sringeri, one of the most sacred spiritual centers in South India, is home to the Sri Sharadamba Temple, established by Adi Shankaracharya on the serene banks of the Tunga River. The temple is not only one of the Shakti Peethas, but also the first of the four Advaita mathas founded by the great saint. The temple is particularly famous for Aksharabhyasam (Vidyarambha) — the initiation ceremony for children before they begin formal education. The dedicated hall opens around 8:00 AM, and the ceremony continues till early afternoon. There are two main temples inside the complex — the ancient temple with the Bhimashila Shiva Linga and the new Sharadamba Temple, which houses the presiding goddess. The Tunga River flows beside the complex, where devotees can perform abhishekam to a small Shiva Linga near the ghats. A dress code is now enforced for inner darshan: men must wear a dhoti (without shirt or vest), and women are required to wear traditional Indian attire. The entire campus has many small shrines and a section displaying the life of Adi Shankaracharya with models — a wonderful learning spot for children too. Truly, a place that blends divinity, learning, and serenity.

Nestled in the mountains, the Sringeri Sharadamba Temple and nearby Shiva Temple offer a deeply spiritual experience. Though the mountain roads are a bit patchy, the serene beauty of the place quickly makes you forget the bumps along the way. ??? Parking is well-organized, and a short walk leads you to the shrine where you can receive the blessings of Devi Sharadamba. ?? Dress code must be followed to approach the deity closely, otherwise, darshan is from a distance. ?? A gentle river flows nearby, and feeding the fish with puffed rice is a peaceful daily ritual enjoyed by devotees. ??? Seva tickets are to be collected outside the temple premises before entering. ? Many visitors describe feeling a divine vibration in the serene atmosphere. ?? Lunch (prasadam) is provided simple, wholesome, and kind to both the pocket and the stomach.

One of the well maintained and spiritual temple experiences! Located precisely as per GMaps, with a Free parking lot near the temple the accessibility is very easy. We went on Deepawali night and entered the temple at 8pm and the temple is open up to 9pm. Luckily - no crowd, no queues hence we got enough and more time in front of the beautiful deity goddess Sharadamba. The temple complex has prominent markings to guide your visit like the Ganapati temple and the Shiva temple which are quite prominent as well as many other deities. The Prasada counter operates up to 9pm and the Bhojanalaya (temple meals) closes at 8:30pm. Pro-tip: specific dressing for both men and women is required to enter the staircase closer to the goddess, so if you’d like to wear a saree or a dhoti! Else you still get the darshan from a slight distance which is okay if your visit is not a pilgrimage.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Sringeri Sharadamba Temple, and it was one of the most peaceful and spiritually fulfilling experiences I’ve had. Located on the banks of the Tunga River, the temple is surrounded by greenery and hills, giving it a very serene and divine atmosphere. The main deity here is Goddess Sharadamba (Saraswati), the Goddess of wisdom and learning. The temple’s architecture is a wonderful mix of traditional South Indian style with intricate carvings and beautifully sculpted pillars. The darshan experience was well organized. The queue system is smooth, and even on weekends, it doesn’t take too long. Only Indian traditional dress is allowed for darshan. Male – without banyan and shirt, Jeans also not allowed, and must wear dhoti. Female – Saree or Panjabi dress. Children – No western wear. The temple also offers the the Anna Prasada served by the temple, simple, tasty, and served with great devotion to all devotees, free of cost. - Temple timings: generally 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. - Ample parking space is available nearby. - Shops outside sell pooja items, prasadam, and souvenirs. - Neatly maintained premises and drinking water facilities. - Accommodation options and restaurants are available close to the temple for visitors. Overall, Sringeri Sharadamba Temple is a must visit for anyone seeking peace, devotion, and spiritual energy amidst nature’s beauty.

Goddess saradha devi worshipped in the temple and the shankaracharya mutt just across the bridge where people throng to see Guru. Due to loss of continuity or no right person to perform rites/pooja of saligrama at home, the worshipped saligramam can be handed over here and the Guru arrange the correct rituals on daily basis by himself or his disciples. The same virtue as experienced by such families, will be continuously received. A very serene atmosphere and divine vibes felt.

I visited Sringeri back in July 2025 and stopped by the newly installed statue of Adi Shankaracharya. What a moving experience! The craftsmanship is beautiful, capturing the wisdom and serenity of the great sage in a way that truly invites reflection. The surroundings are quiet, respectful and well-kept, making it an ideal place for a moment of stillness. The placement of the statue feels thoughtful. It doesn’t just stand there as a monument but seems to invite you into conversation—with yourself, your faith, and the legacy of knowledge and devotion that Shankaracharya represents. I especially appreciated how the lighting and setting enhance the contemplative mood without being overly flashy. If you’re visiting Sringeri, take time to pause in front of this statue. Whether you’re a follower of Advaita Vedanta or simply curious, it offers a genuine point of connection and inspiration.

Visit Sringeri Temple for a culturally rich trip in Karnataka. Sringeri Sharada Peetham, set along the banks of the Tunga river, is one of the most revered pilgrimage centers in the state. The complex has two key temples: the Sri Vidyashankara Temple dedicated to Shiva, and the Sharada Amba Temple dedicated to Saraswati. It’s also one of the most auspicious places to begin your child’s Akshara Abhyasa, right in front of the goddess who embodies knowledge, learning, and speech.

We were able to visit the deity 4–5 times because it wasn’t crowded, and there were no strict restrictions. The place is extremely calm and peaceful. You can spend time near the Tunga river with the fish around—it's a soothing experience. You can also walk 3–4 km inside the meditation center; there are many things to explore. We also had dinner inside, and it was really good.

The first monastery established by Adi Shankara is Sri Sarada Peedam. Sri Saradambhal is enshrined in a golden temple. This temple, which dates back to the 8th century AD, has been renovated at various times. There are also temples dedicated to Sri Adi Shankara and Sri Vidya Shankara. There is a temple on the north bank of the Thuangabhadra river and a monastery and adhisthanams on the south bank. Sri Vidyaranya Tirtha, which was a sub-district of the Vijayanagara Empire, is the incumbent of Sarada Peedam. Mangalore is 105 km. away. Navaratri is a special time here.

Sringeri Sharada Peetham is a masterpiece of spiritual peace and architectural genius. My visit in September 2025 was breathtaking, with the post-monsoon greenery of the Western Ghats at its peak and the Tunga River flowing with majestic grace. The Vidyashankara Temple is a true highlight; its twelve zodiac pillars, which align with the sun's movement, are an ancient scientific marvel. Feeding the sacred fish at the river ghats remains a uniquely tranquil experience. Despite the humid weather, the temple was impeccably clean and the Annadhana (prasada) was simple and fulfilling. It is a powerful, meditative retreat for anyone seeking a deep connection with Indian heritage.

I visited Sringeri Math on a busy day. However, although the queues looked long, the wait was not too long. Sharada Devi is truly graceful. What I liked most was the inner part of the complex. As you go inside, you cross a small pedestrian bridge and reach a serene area with four shrines dedicated to past Shankaracharyas. The history and contributions of these four Shankaracharyas are worth reading. One of them identified Kalady as the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya and contributed significantly to the study and preservation of Hindu tradition. Photography is not permitted inside the temple or near the inscriptions, so I have not added photos here. After these shrines, there is a temple dedicated to Sharada Devi, where the current Shankaracharya gives darshan and answers devotees’ questions. Please remember that traditional attire is required to enter this temple and to have darshan of the Shankaracharya. Similarly, to go very close to Sharada Devi in the main temple, traditional dress is required. The only sore point for me was the free food (prasadam/annadanam), which could be better in quality. There were also minor issues like security staff occasionally raising their voices at pilgrims, which is unfortunately common in crowded places. Before I conclude, I saw many parents bringing their young children for Aksharabhyasam at the temple—traditional dress is required here as well. There are also some typical shortcomings around the temple (not under the Math’s control), such as a narrow and unclean approach road. The Math is also doing some exterior renovation, which should add more aura once completed.

A magnificent temple; the darshan (viewing of the deity) is very quick. The idol is so captivating that you can't take your eyes off it; the goddess's gaze feels like a blessing. There is no influence of money anywhere. Daily free meals are provided. If the Sringeri Peetham pontiff is present, you can receive his blessings, which is a great fortune. The temple showcases exquisite craftsmanship that captivates the mind. The ghat way to sringeri from udupi is really great experience there are 13 hairpin curves make you so happy give you a memorable experience. Prefer to go by auto.

An absolute divine and architectural masterpiece! The energy at the Sri Sharadamba Temple is incredibly peaceful. The main Rajagopuram is majestic, but the highlight for me was the historic Vidyashankara Temple within the complex. The intricate stone carvings and the unique architecture are a photographer's delight. The complex is well-maintained, spacious, and sits beautifully by the Tunga River. A must-visit for anyone seeking spiritual solace and history. Ideally visited in the early morning or evening for the best experience.

I went there for my kid’s aksharabhyasa. The temple. There was no waiting and everything was smooth. Only bad part was how tourists have thrown so many plastics in the parking area and place have become very dirty.

Sringeri | Sightseeing in Sringeri | Temples in Sringeri ...Sringeri is famous for the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, one of four monasteries established by Adi Shankaracharya, serving as a major center for Advaita Vedanta, Vedic learning, and the worship of Goddess Sharadamba (Saraswati). It's known for its ancient temples like the Vidyashankara Temple.

We recently visited Sri Sharadamba Temple in Sringeri for the Aksharavaysam (Aksharabhyasa) puja, and it was a truly divine and memorable experience. We booked the puja ticket in advance for ?500. Everything was smooth — no need to carry anything as the priest provides the slate, chalk, and rice, and you get the slate as a blessed keepsake after the ceremony. No queues, so the puja is peaceful and focused. Dress Code: Men in dhoti/angavastram, women in saree or salwar-dupatta. Facilities & Cleanliness: Ample parking, neat and well-maintained premises, very organized and welcoming. Accommodation: Rooms at ?400 with two cots, attached bathroom, chair, table, and chattai. Tea/coffee from 5 AM (attendant notifies you), and hot water available 5–9 AM. Serene Surroundings: Located on the banks of the Tunga River, with peaceful riverside views and fish near the water. The Sharada Peetham complex has small shrines and the Vidyashankara Temple, perfect for meditation, reflection, or a quiet stroll. Food: Nearby Hotel Udupi Upahara serve tasty South Indian vegetarian dishes — ideal for breakfast or lunch before/after darshan. Tips for First-Time Visitors: Book puja tickets in advance. Arrive early on weekends. Check the dress code. Wear comfortable footwear. Carry a water bottle. Explore the riverbank and smaller shrines for a calm experience. Overall: A wonderful place for spiritual visits, family rituals, and cultural experiences. Proper planning makes the visit smooth, enriching, and truly memorable.

Pradeepji conducted the Hindu ceremony for our multicultural wedding. Throughout the period leading up to the wedding, he was very responsive and professional in his communication. During the ceremony, he did a wonderful job of explaining each ritual and rite to the audience while including appropriate and respectful humor, which made for an enjoyable experience for our guests.

Babu Irvine Mandir Murugan volunteer here. I have had the pleasure of knowing Pandit Sri Dattathreya Sharma since 2019. He is an exceptional priest, known for his warm smile and respectful demeanor. His expertise encompasses a wide range of ceremonies, including Pujas, Homas/Hawan, weddings, Grihapravesha (housewarming), Shraddha (annual ceremonies), and Upanayana (thread ceremonies). He is well-versed in conducting various religious events and Pujas across both South and North India. Over the past four years, I have had the opportunity to interact with him and organize numerous events, such as those dedicated to Shiva, Murugan, Ganapathy, Venkateswara, and Amman. I have particularly collaborated with him on several Murugan events, where he has consistently delivered outstanding service to both volunteers and devotees. I greatly appreciated his meticulous attention to detail, prompt communication, and the dedication he showed while performing the rituals. Additionally, he is very soft-spoken and punctual. I wholeheartedly recommend him for anyone seeking his services.

Pandit Pradeep is the best priest in the Bay Area. I have worked with several priests and none of them match his quality. He does not cut corners. In addition, he explains the rituals well and also directs the other vendors (e.g., Photography). This is my first experience with this priest and we plan to keep him as our permanent priest.

We recently had Satyanarayana Vratam performed at our home in Livermore. Our folks were with us who perform the ritual almost every month and were happy with his service, so you can measure the authenticity. His turn around time was quick, knowledge was on par and prices were reasonable while compared to other officiants in the Bay area. Definitely recommend!

We were searching for good priest for house warming pooja and Pt Pradeep was alluded to us by a companion who had seen him performing pooja before. We were truly inspired with his truthfulness in ensuring every one of the ceremonies are performed to the best of our fulfillment. He was sufficiently quiet to connect with us in every one of the exercises he performed. We were truly content with our choice to pick him for our home warming and homa. We unquestionably would suggest him for any sort of Hindu customs.

Pradeep Archakam performed the Navarathri Devi Puja for our North Bay Hindu Center which is a non-benefit set up to construct a sanctuary in the North Bay. There were more than 150 individuals going to the capacity. He administered the kids' Saraswathi puja service and the Kumkum Archana for the women. Cleric Pradeep directed the kids' function pleasantly, clarifying the ceremonies unmistakably and calmly and every one of the participants eagerly took part all the while. He likewise directed the women Devi puja service pleasantly. With everything taken into account, Pradeep Archakam was reliable, directed the puja productively and well. We would profoundly prescribe Priest Pradeep for a religious administration - both individual and gathering.
