About Tamil Christian Church Of Canada

The Church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ. It exists to promote and cherish the word of God as enshrined in the Holy Scriptures and to make known God’s call to Christian Living, to foster unity and accord among all Christians and to invite them into worship, fellowship, membership and to equip them for Christian Ministry and Evangelism.The Tamil Christian Church of Canada was founded in 1971, incorporated in 1986 and is a Canadian registered Charity.Joined the Wesleyan Church Central Canada District as a congregation in May 2019.It is reported that the first Tamil carol service was held in the year 1971 with the gathering of 25 people. This service was initiated by missionaries who had worked in India, Rev Bruce and Mrs Doris Sinclair and Rev. Dr Ernie and Mrs Hann. This service continued from 1973 – 1979.The Good Friday service was added to the annual Carol service. South Indian Tamil Christians, under the leadership of Sundar and Ranee Saverimutthu and Dr and Mrs Sundar Singh joined the Christians from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) to have Tamil services in common in 1976. In 1980 a Bible study groups were formed and a monthly Tamil service was introduced.
