About Bija Yoga Studio

At Bija Yoga, we offer yoga classes taught in the Iyengar Tradition. We also offer Feldenkrais classes. We welcome students of all levels of learning; offering beginning, mixed and intermediate classes. We have workshops and Intensives with teachers from around the world. Yoga classes are based on the teachings of B.K.S Iyengar, where alignment and integration of body, mind and breath are in harmony. Many of our teachers have both taught and practiced Iyengar yoga for decades and bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their classes. We ensure that each student is taught in a safe and progressive manner. Becoming a CIYT, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, begins with long term thorough and dedicated practice. One is a student of Iyengar Yoga before becoming a teacher. In the assessment process itself, candidates are carefully observed and evaluated as they demonstrate asanas and Pranayamas and as they teach a class of students. Robin is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and has been teaching since 2001. She is a founder and co-owner of the Bija Yoga Studio which opened its doors in October 2002.Robin's journey into the practice began with certified Iyengar teacher Kathy Alef, who guided and inspired Robin into a deeper understanding and appreciation for yoga and its discipline. In 2003, Robin graduated from the Advanced Studies Program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of SF.
