About Christopher Dicran Hale
hristopher began his studies in sitar at the age of 15 in Mussoorie, India, and then went on to study in Lucknow at the Bhaathkhande Music College, gaining the Visharad degree. He continued his studies in 2002 with his current guru, Partha Chatterjee, the foremost disciple of Nikhil Banerjee. Christopher also holds a degree in western music composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston. Christopher teaches sitar from his home in Toronto, as well as through skype video. He is also available to perform sitar and sing in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. His current repertoire emphasizes Hindustani instrumental classical sitar music, but Christopher also enjoys singing popular Hindi film songs spanning every generation.
