Raised in a musical family, Josh was introduced to music through classical piano at four years old and later, the bass at eight. He began studying jazz and through that path found North Indian classical music. Josh is an internationally acclaimed sitarist and regularly tours the US, Canada, India, and Europe. In addition to his work in classical Indian music, Josh has explored the possibilities of the sitar through collaborations outside of traditional Hindustani music. Josh’s approach to teaching is very thorough. He gives his students a firm grounding in technique, composition, approach, theory, history, and culture. Josh teaches traditional material as well as original compositions specifically designed for his students based on their learning needs. Students of all instruments and levels are welcome and encouraged to sign up for lessons.
