About Sitar Lessons
Roshan Jamal Bhartiya is one of India's premier sitarists. He was raised in a famous musical family; his Guru and father was Ustad Jamaluddin Bhartiya. In 1968, Roshanji was awarded a Master of Sitar degree from the Sarladavi Music Institute, Delhi, was an "A" grade musician on All India Radio, an All India Radio Competition Award winner (sitar), and a Special Grade musician for various Bollywood productions. He has been a member of the music department faculty at Naropa University in Boulder and at the College of Santa Fe. Roshan has toured the globe many times, and for the last 40 years has performed and recorded with many of India's most renowned artists. Roshan also teaches in the Santa Fe and Albuquerque area and in Flagstaff, AZ.
