About Downey Street Events

Downey Street Events was started by Lauren Geissler and Emily de Ayora, two best friends who met while attending Stanford Law School. While they both spent much of their time planning events, they didn’t consider turning event planning into a career. Instead their talents manifested themselves in elegant dinner parties, elaborately painted Christmas cookies, fine art and music, and meticulously run fundraisers and campaigns. In 2008 while working at law firms in the Bay Area, Lauren and Emily planned and designed Lauren’s wedding. They fell in love with the process and saw an opening in the industry for an uber professional high tech event planning firm. Downey Street Events was born, and booked a full schedule of events within the first several months of business.

Rated 5.0 Every time one of our wedding couples chooses Downey St. Events to plan/design their wedding at Villa Montalvo, I cheer loudly in my office. They're that good!. The team is comprised of professional business women that can creatively design and produce (not always the case with designers) a stunning event. They're also fun to work with and no drama. I work with the best of the best at Montalvo and I'm so glad to have Downey St. at the top of my list of preferred vendors.
