About Nirmal Bajekal Musician
Nirmal Bajekal, a disciple of illustrious Gurus Padma Bhushan Dr. Prabha Atre and late Dr. Ashok Ranade, teaches Hindustani vocal music and harmonium students. Nirmal has a Masters degree in Hindustani Music from SNDT University, Bombay and is the founder-director of Gandharva North America an affiliate of the renowned Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidylaya, Miraj, India. Nirmal has developed and established Indian Music courses at three colleges in Portland, OR: Lewis and Clark College, Reed College and Pacific University. After moving to Richmond, VA she has trained over 200 students and is currently teaching at the University of Richmond, Hindu Center of Virginia in Richmond and in Charlottesville, VA.
