Shadaj mission is to cultivate, nurture and promote the authentic Indian Classical Music through concerts, education, cultural integration, and collaboration. The success of a great Hindustani classical music concert depends not only upon the ability of the artist but also upon the quality of the appreciative audience. The objective of Shadaj, a non-profit organization, is to not only host memorable “Baithak” style Hindustani classical music concerts but also to cultivate a community of good active listeners. The purpose of Music Appreciation sessions is to expose the listeners to some of the technical aspects and subtleties of music through sessions comprising of Lecture Demonstrations, Interviews, and conversations with Musicians and recordings.
