About Sur Sumiran School Of Music

Students at the school learn Classical Vocal, Light Vocal, Harmonium, Keyboard and Tabla. The school strictly follows the Gandhara Mandal's curriculum when it comes to teaching classical music. Students get certified by the Gandharva Mandal once a year. Gandharva Mandal conducts exams every November and students receive certificate on passing their exam. After the completion of 6 exams, the student receives a "Sangeet Visharad" degree which is equivalent to Bachelors in Music. Please note that it is not mandatory to take these exams, it is a facility provided by the school. Darshana teaches Vocal and Instrumental music. Her forte is Vocal music. She also teaches Harmonium and Keyboard. Darshana is also a talented Kathak dancer.
