About Texas Raas

Texas Raas was founded in 2003, also known as Dirty South Dandiya, is UT Austin's very own intercollegiate Garba/Raas dance team. Come support us at our local and national events every year! We perform not only on the UT campus but also at national-level competitions along with private parties such as weddings, receptions, etc. Our mission is to entertain audiences all around the US by performing traditional Indian Garba/Raas style of dance at a highly competitive level. We are dedicated to preserving the Indian culture through showcasing our unique and vibrant dance form. We hope to encourage diversity and spread awareness of our traditions by performing both on and off campus.

Rated 5.0 Mimi was by far one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day. She not only was patient and kind but was more than accommodating. She did such an amazing job at my wedding, my sister decided to use her as her hair and makeup for her wedding this past weekend. Every inch of hair and makeup was on point! You will not be disappointed booking with Mimi. She's fast, diligent, and detailed in her craft. She is not only talented but has a heart of freaking gold. I will forever holler Mimi to do my hair in makeup for events!

Rated 5.0 Mimi was extremely detail oriented and professional. She took her time and did a wonderful job on my bridal hair. My waves lasted all night long in the humidity, dancing for hours and throughout the whole day I received several compliments.

Rated 5.0 Mimi did the hair for my daughters wedding. Her work was the best I have ever seen and my daughters hair was absolutely spectacular. She looked gorgeous all night long. She also did the bridesmaids and everyone looked stunning. Mimi is quick with her work, she is able to see what style is going to look best with your face shape, she is able to replicate any photograph that you show her and, most of all, she is delightful to work with. If you need your hair done for any occasion, I highly recommend Mimi. Never have I ever seen more perfect up-dos anywhere. She is truly an artist!
