About The Guitarist

The Guitarist is located in Santa Clara, California. We have been teaching guitar in our community for 20 years! More recently we have added bass guitar and drums lessons. If you are interested in learning to play guitar, bass, or drums we would love to hear from you. My name is Rich Hawthorne and I have been an instructor at The Guitarist for 20 years. I have set up this page so that I can hear from you and learn how I can better serve you as your guitar instructor. We also have a great selection of items in our studio. We have Guitar Tab Books, Guitar and Bass Methods, Electronic Tuners, Metronomes, Strings, and we are an authorized dealer for Taka mine Guitars.

Rated 5.0 The guitarists is a great place to learn not matter what your skill level is. I have seen a range of players practicing music and getting better over the years, in my own, in senior as well as in junior batches. Teaching staff is pretty cool. Among them, our teacher, Rich Hawthorne is awesome.He has a gentle and unassuming teaching style, and above all he cares about his students. Rich is one of the best teachers I have ever had across subjects and disciplines.
