We tried Haleem , one of the best consistency Haleem we had in DFW. And nool parata - very good texture, soft and crispy edges. Mutton Spcl pulav - amazing and tasty rice flavor, I thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. Dosa also good and fresh. Also chicken sukku - it was ok ok for my taste but overall pretty good experience.

We had Mutton briyani at this Salem RR Mckinney and it’s absolutely delicious. Taste very good and definitely it’s 10/10. Mutton pieces are also cooked very well and I had the same taste of when I had the mutton Biriyani in Chennai RR Biriyani shop. Chicken 65 Dry is another fantastic dish with the combination with mutton Biriyani. They have 8 varities of fresh parotas. Parota and the salna was a typical taste of my hometown . I would definitely say like it’s a must try one here.

I’ve visited both the Salem RR Biryani locations in McKinney and Plano, and Plano is clearly ahead in maintenance, food quality, taste, and overall hospitality. We ordered the chicken kebab here, and it was good and flavorful. However, the chicken soup tasted completely different compared to our previous visit—this time it felt more like a chicken gravy than a soup. We also ordered parata with chicken sherva, but what we received tasted more like aloo kurma with just a few chicken pieces. When we checked, the explanation was that it was “pure Tamil style,” but it’s quite different from what we’ve had at the Plano branch. The biryani was okay, but it was definitely better last time. For the raita, the initial serving was good, but when we asked for a second serving, they gave us a bad one. After we mentioned it, they did replace it with a fresh raita. Overall, there’s definitely room for improvement at the McKinney location. With better consistency in taste and service, they can match the quality of the Plano branch. keep handwash instead of sanitizer in the handwashing area.

How did Salem RR help with my wife's depression? (If you are just interested in the review proceed to the last few lines :)) Recently I have been sitting with my 5th grader and helping him read science chapters and each of those chapters start with a question which it tries to answer in the lesson. I thought I will give that a try for this review. My wife is one of the many techies who have lost their job in the past year and she has been very hard at searching for a new job and applying to anything that slightly matches her profile. And hardly 10% of the applications get past the initial screening and even fewer give a call and schedule an interview. This has been the case for almost six months now and if it is a holiday weekend then the number of applications increase, meaning more rejections and my wife getting even more upset. All these rejections and not getting a job was just making her feel depressed and we decided to go to Dallas for the Christmas weekend and just eat at all of our favorite restaurants. Eating out is my wife's way of forgetting the problems. We had heard about Salem RR recently and it was on our list to go and eat during the trip. We went there for dinner and ordered Chicken 65, Salem RR Special Chicken Biryani, Nool Parotta and Coin Parotta. The Chicken 65 is the best that we have had in the US and to us that is how a 65 should be. Crispy, Deep fried, dry, reddish brown and tasted amazing and also was of generous quantity. The parottas with the Chicken salna was too good; the feeling of soaking them in the salna and eating was vera level. Lastly, the Biryani - there are not a lot of restaurants here that give you the feeling of eating in Chennai but when we ate the Biryani it gave us the same feeling of eating a Biryani in Chennai. The Biryani had flavors and taste of both a street side Biryani stall and also that of a star restaurant Biryani. I am no food expert and just a common person who loves food expressing the love for the food that we had at Salem RR. I don't think I have to say anymore on how this improved my wife's depression. P.S. The place and service was not as exceptional as the food but was good enough.

Tried the Mutton Combo Thali and it did not disappoint! The mutton was super tender and full of flavor. Everything on the plate tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and the portions were really satisfying. Comes together as a perfect comfort meal with roti and rice. This is easily the best biryani I’ve had so far in Texas. The special biryani really stands out — flavorful, aromatic, and well balanced. Their parottas are authentic South Indian style, flaky and done right. Make sure to pick up the food while it’s still warm — that’s when it really hits the spot. We went here for dinner on Christmas Eve. Thank you Vinoth for recommending the Crab masala and fish fry. The pepper crab masala tasted really good and was full of flavor. The crab was fresh and spicy. The fish fry was crispy and tasty. Both dishes were very enjoyable and worth trying.

The biryani tasted just like the Salem style and was really good. The parotta was super soft, fluffy, and nicely layered—one of the best I’ve had. The boti was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Really enjoyed the food overall.

This mother-daughter catering duo is absolutely phenomenal! They recently catered a small dinner for 4–5 people, and their food had everyone licking their fingers. The creativity, originality, and freshness in their dishes are truly unmatched. I ordered the Malai Mac & Cheese and Paneer Lasagna, both bursting with incredible flavors. For dessert, we had their mango mousse and pistachio cupcakes—mind-blowingly good! Perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, just the right mix of indulgence and freshness. Had the best Diwali desserts!

We’re so grateful to Chaitanya’s Delights for the absolutely delicious Diwali menu! Every dish was bursting with flavor and made our celebration truly special. The Paneer Tikka Tacos were a hit—gone before the second batch even made it to the table! The Masala Corn was a favorite among the kids, and the Aloo Tikki Sliders? I’m still dreaming about them. Finally, the Gajar ka Halwa Cake—what a nostalgic treat! It brought back childhood memories of my mom's halwa. They added a brown butter frosting which was the perfect finishing touch. We especially appreciated the thoughtful accommodations for our guests with allergies. They felt so cared for and even took their meals home to enjoy later. Flavor’s were subtle and mild. Could improve on this area. Their Plano branch initial launch briyani was very good in flavor. Waiting time was probably better managed than the Plano branch. Though can improve on this space as well.

Yesterday, we visited the newly opened Salem RR Biryani restaurant. Despite the crowd, the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff did a great job managing service efficiently. I highly recommend checking it out! Be sure to try the parotta with chicken curry—it’s a standout. And if you’re a biryani lover, don’t miss their mutton biryani and chicken biryani. Salem RR biryani was the best biryani I had in a very long time. The chicken was so soft and tender and the taste was amazing. Parota with Mutton nei chukka was a bit expensive but the taste was good. Even the dessert was delicious. And lastly the Brinjal salad was extremely tasty .. would highly recommend Dallas folks to come n try this restaurant

Waited about 25 mins for takeout when the restaurant was completely empty. Ordered the BOGO regular chicken briyani and got the 65 briyani. They never informed only the 65 briyani was available and had to find it out after getting back home.. biryani was ok and brinjal side could be better. was fortunate to taste the chicken kebab which is available from next week and that was fire. Hit all the right notes.Will give another try for mutton biryani and kebab..

I recently visited Salem RR Biryani McKinney and absolutely loved the food! The mutton biryani was flavorful with perfectly cooked meat and authentic South Indian spices. Tried seeraga samba mutton Biryani,nool parotta with chicken salna ,and bun parotta was so soft with mutton nei chukka it damn delicious taste and very excellent it takes me to my childhood days I will definitely recommend this and the process are very reasonable u guys killed it all the best

We came in for the first time and tried the Chicken 65 Biryani and parotta. As an American dude I'd never tried parotta before and the server was kind enough to explain it to me. My girls and I enjoyed the food and the experience. We will be back!

I really enjoyed the Salem RR Special Chicken Biryani, the flavors really hit! Super complex flavors and a good heat plus perfectly aromatic as biryani should be. The chicken was also flavorful and tender and the rice perfectly cooked. Highly recommend, and I'm looking forward to returning to try the chicken 65 biryani next!

Wow! So glad I found this place! The kabobs are absolutely amazing — some of the juiciest and most flavorful I’ve ever had. The Chicken Tikka Kabob and Hariyali Kabob are my top picks so far, and I can’t wait to try the rest of their menu. The Bullet Naan with Malai Kofta is also outstanding! This place has quickly become one of my favorite Indian restaurants — I’ll definitely be coming back often!

Tried the Rameshwaram Dosa for the first time, and I was blown away! The dosa was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside, with just the right amount of ghee that made every bite rich and satisfying without being too heavy. What really stood out was the flavorful filling — it had a nice blend of traditional South Indian spices, and the potato masala was comforting yet packed with taste. The chutneys were fresh and vibrant, especially the coconut one, and the sambar was warm and full of flavor — not too spicy, just right. It’s one of those dishes that feels like a comforting meal from home, especially if you’re a fan of authentic South Indian food.
