When I first met Sukesh 6 months ago at information session, even though I was impressed with his knowledge, I was unsure whether I wanted to go thru another exercise, esp having done a couple of plans previously. I used FinAccurate for my tax preparation and while the actual tax work itself was accurate and professionally done, my biggest frustration has been with their lack of communication and follow-up. During the two tax seasons I used them, I often felt like I had to chase updates or initiate contact just to get basic questions answered. Meetings were only scheduled when I pushed for them, and even after being told I would receive follow-up on tax planning for the following year, I never heard back. This was disappointing, especially considering how important timely communication is when dealing with taxes. However, I do want to be fair. Their tax preparation is thorough and well put together. However, for me, the client experience fell short because responsiveness and proactive communication were missing. I tried to give them another shot because it seemed like they were making a solid effort to improve. They set up a zoom meeting to go over my current situation and see what plan I should purchase next tax season. But without any notice, they cancelled the meeting and emailed me various plan options with prices even though we didn't talk about my current picture. I ultimately decided not to continue with them for this reason. If you’re looking for accuracy in tax prep, they can provide that. But if you value responsiveness and consistent communication, my experience was that this is an area where the firm needs significant improvement.

I contacted Karan Malhotra, CPA and his company Agog Financials, Inc. back in March as I needed to submit amendments to 2012 taxes. I was looking to get my taxes done professionally in a short amount of time and luckily I was able to find Karan Malhotra. He paid attention to all the small details me and my husband missed, got it all straightened out and I got back over $3,000 on refund. Karan treated me so fair on the pricing and work and I honestly can’t thank him enough for the enormous effort and attention to detail he provided at every turn. He’s a great communicator; an excellent CPA, meets the deadline he promised and answers all your questions. He is very clear, concise, and exact as possible on providing tax information. He uses English very well to make tax thoughts very clear and simple. He also provide a lot of his views on ways to work with tax situations. There is a difference between a CPA and a certified tax preparer. Make sure you understand what that is and the implications of using a preparer before using anyone who isn’t a CPA. I’m probably just a small customer in terms of the complexity of my return and my annual tax preparation fee, but I appreciate that he was always available for my tax-related questions. I feel comfortable recommending his services to anyone.
