Rated 5.0 We had such a great experience at Pauls. I ordered the Indian Taco, it was huge and I couldnt eat it all, it was delicious! My husband ordered grilled cheese with soup and the soup was fantastic, was full of meat, potatoes, pasta and diced tomatoes. My daughter ordered popcorn shrimp and baked potato. Also we ordered fried dill pickles for our appetizer. Best we've ever had! There was an ample amount and they were thick and had great flavor. I will post photos on this page. Our waitress was very, very nice and has a big smile on her face everytime she came to our table. Overall, it was a great experience and when we come back someday to The Smokies, we will definetly come back!

Rated 1.0 The worst service ever. The staff was rude. We waited for over 10 minutes to be seated and after finally asking a staff member when we would be seated a server told us they didn't have a hostess but the sign said "wait for hostess to seat you". We sat outside on deck which was first come first serve. After another 10-15 minutes we had to ask a server if she was our waitress and her response was no. She could have gotten our drink order and said I will let your server know you are ready...or something. Then a family of 8 with a big dog shows up and immediately are waited on. Their drink orders taken along with another party of 2 behind us. We continued to sit waiting. Finally we left. The burger place right down the road was fabulous and great service. When I called to speak to a manager or owner I was told they weren't available. The lady who answered was rude and said the girl who was rude to us at restaurant was her daughter. So obviously she was trying to keep her from getting a complaint to management. I was furious at their response. Not even an apology. Two other couples at our hotel said they were also treated the same way at lunch that day. I will continue to spread the word since I visit there often and have many friends that frequent the area. Absolutely worst service I've ever received.

Rated 3.0 My wife and I had lunch here last Monday because the locals said it was great! As it turned out, it wasn't so great. As soon as we walked up the patio, we witnessed frustrated customers who had been waiting almost an hour to get their food. One couple paid for their drinks and left. We were hesitant about eating there but decided to give it a shot anyway. Well it did take some time, but not too long. I had the Indian taco and my wife had the philly steak sandwich. We both enjoyed our meals but a little disappointed in regards to portions. I mean, a sandwich should come with fries or something. Not at Paul's, just the sandwich! Please take my suggestion and add a side to your lunches. Service wasn't par, but that was because there was only one server for the whole patio, and he was busting his butt taking orders, filing drinks, and busing tables! Hire more wait staff! If you do, maybe you won't have so many bad reviews!

Rated 4.0 We drove over the mountain today from Gatlinburg to Cherokee to check out the fall foliage. It was incredible. When we make that trip we always eat at Paul's. This time was no exception. They always have a special or two available and this time it intrigued me so I gave it a try. I got two pieces of fried chicken ; thigh and leg; my favorite; a pinto bean & hominy combination; which was delicious; fried potatoes, something that I think they called "fry bread". Tasted kind of like cornbread and I think that it had beans in it. Never tried anything like it before. It was good. It was all garnished with some strips of deep fried fat back. Yes....I said fat back. Deep fried. They were crispy, crunchy, porky deliciousness. The wife got a hot dog and onion rings; which she gave a thumbs up. This isn't fast food. No drive thru window here. Meals are made when you order so it can be a wait; depending upon what you ordered. So have a seat. Visit with who you brung with you and enjoy the meal.
