About Sanjha Chulha

Indian food is ancient, diverse and steeped in tradition, an amalgam of different ethnic influences, much like the country itself. In olden days in rural India - an agricultural society - the men would generally go to work in the farms while women would take care of the home. In the evening, the women would make daal or sabzi (entree) at their home on a chulha (earthen stove), but for making rob (bread) especially on a tandoor (earthen cylindrical oven), it was inefficient for every home to heat up their own tandoor. This was because it took a long time and lots of effort to get the temperature right, not to mention that not every woman was an expert in the field. So, the tradition was that all the women would take Atta (wheat flour) from their home and cook all the robs together at one place. The homes that had tandoor would take turns in hosting the rob-preparation ritual. When the weather was inclement, chulha would be used to cook robs. While cooking, they would also discuss - let's just say everything under the moon. This made it an ideal community place to exchange stories from all around the village, and beyond. This practice not only served as a means to get work done together but also tied the society together.

Rated 1.0 We went this restaurant today, Boy what a mess. As soon as we walked in, the crew was not even caring. Then we sat on a table and noticed the place was a big chaotic. No one gave us a Menu until we asked for one. Looking at the scene we asked for how long the order is going to take ? They were like, we are busy so it will be a wait. So we asked to suggest a dish which we can get quicker (or pre made). They said nothing and it will take a long for anything. Our daughter being hungry we have decide to leave, they were not even bothering. Simply said, ok leave it's fine. They didn't even said sorry we are busy right now we can't serve you faster(we understand sometimes restaurants are busy). This place looks like run unprofessionally. I don't believe on the 20+ reviews in 4days. There is no service period. In Alpharetta there are lot of options for a Better Indian restaurant. This will not be on our list in the future.

Rated 5.0 Was in Alpheretta for a business trip and ended up at Sanjha Chulha with a few friends and their families. Its a very family friendly place and serves excellent authentic Indian food. I absolutely loved the Paneer Tikka and the Chicken Biryani. We ordered multiple entres and one thing that really impressed me was that they didn't make every dish in the same curry. That's something most Indian restaurants in the US do. Each dish had its own distinct taste. Have been here quite a few times now and the food quality and taste is very consistent. Love the food and am a regular here now.

Rated 5.0 “When any dish is presented with creativity and finesse, simple meal becomes a feast!!” Hello Everyone, I usually don’t write any review about any restaurant, but this time I had to take few minutes to mention this awesome place that just opened near exit 11, Alpharetta. On Saturday, I had this wonderful opportunity to attend the Grand opening of Indian Restaurant – “Sanjha Chulha”. Sanjha Chulha has spacious casual dining area, along with the separate space for hosting parties. The décor is very clean and crisp, instead of covering the whole space in dark and blinding colors, which I have seen in many casual Indian restaurants around the area, it uses light pastel paints on the wall with some pop of colors on the chairs. As it is brand new restaurant, they are still working on setting up the entire space and I am sure there would be many new developments related to the whole ambiance. The menu offers wide variety of mouthwatering dishes from appetizer to desserts. I had their lunch buffet and thus got chance to try out most of their dishes. Buffet had wide selection of both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian dishes. I have to say most of the dishes were north Indian centric but there were some south Indian dishes as well. All the dishes were exceptionally good, but the one that caught my most attention was their tandoori chicken, it was well marinated, nicely seasoned and moist. The way each dish was presented certainly shows that Chef Vikas had taken great effort in preparing every dish. Staff was very courteous and friendly and overall service was good. Although as I mentioned that it was their first day, so they might need to work little bit towards streamlining the whole process. All in all, had really nice experience and if you are looking for any good restaurant with authentic Indian food… do give Sanjha Chulha a try! And please share your honest opinion, I am sure it will help them in improving the overall experience for their customers.

Rated 5.0 Renovated seating place, soft spoken staff and kids friendly environment! Not exorbitant priced! Good food! Sounds like a rare combination but its not in this case. Delicacies I have tasted so far, my two thumbs up to the chefs!!! I noticed that owners ask for customer feedback to work on the area of improvement which is really great!! So impressed! I look fwd to keep visiting this place !

Rated 5.0 They started with Authentic North Indian food and recently introduced south Indian food too which is delicious. Friendly and helpful staff, refreshing ambience. I have been there twice already and saw noticable difference in service from first week. It has gotten much faster and better. Understandable because they are new. My favorite veg dishes are Paneer Pasanda and Dal Masala. I will be a regular here.

Rated 4.0 This is a good place for North Indian Taste. Fairly new. That being said, i went to this place looking at the very high ratings. On reaching there i was surprised to know that it is only 1 week since they opened. So most of the reviews mentioned are fake. They need to learn to manage people better, but has good north indian taste food. I will be going again, hoping to see some improvements. And guys please grow up and stop the fake reviews.

Rated 5.0 I was pleasantly surprised by the taste & quality of the food here and also the variety in their buffet spread. There were many options for both vegetarians & non-vegetarians, and the best part is that the dishes were all quite authentic. Specially liked the sheekh kebab, chicken tandoori, goat curry, veg navratan korma! Staff is courteous and friendly. Its a new restaurant so still early times, but I must say that this could be the best Indian restaurant, especially for North Indian food, in Alpharetta and the northern suburbs in general! Definitely recommended.

Rated 5.0 I was on a business trip to US and normally on such trips I don't go to Indian restaurants as they rarely provide the same flavours as I get commonly back in India. But this was certainly a pleasant surprise as the preparations at this Sanjha Chulha were pretty authentic and pushed me to eat more than I should have!! Great stuff guys!! Thanks for the true Indian flavours on foreign soil.
