Rated 5.0 This is the place where I have eaten the most. A tremendous selection of authentic Indian dishes at reasonable prices keeps me coming back. The food is delicious and authentic, the waitstaffs are very helpful when making suggestions, the service is excellent, and they never let your glass go empty. Lunch buffet is a huge plus. This is by far the best Indian restaurant in Triangle in terms of food, service, location and price.

Rated 5.0 Friends and I have been dining at Tandoor for more than 25 years! The food is cooked to order and delicious. The ambiance is attractive, comfortable, and relaxing. The owner, Bindal, and his staff are gracious and accommodating.

Rated 1.0 DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Owners are FAKING OWN GOOD REVIEWS. "Tandoor cannot stand up to the competition in the area, with bland, forgettable food at inflated prices." I second that! The servers are CARELESS and remind me of cheap bag carriers in third world countries just waiting for me to hurry up so they can get "their tip". RECOMMEND TANDOOR ON HWY 55 and 54 BETTER FOOD BETTER PRICES BETTER SERVICE. THANKS!

Rated 1.0 Soup was quite thin and watery. Three very different sauces (two with chicken and one with lamb) were uncharacteristically sweet and very similar in taste. The large cubes of chicken and lamb were very dry, despite having just been cooked (???) in a sauce. The honey coated pastry balls were soaked in the honey and tasteless (hard to do with honey). The naan was unremarkable but acceptable, as was the basmati rice. All in all the best thing served to me was the beer and water. Very few customers while I was there, and I suppose that should not be a surprise. I was asked if I wanted mild, medium or hot sauce, as if my preference should change how the sauce would properly be prepared. Part of my time was listening to the owner argue about a delivery from the phone a few feet from me. If you know nothing of Indian food, this is not the place to learn. If you enjoy properly prepared Indian food, you would not send your mother-in-law to this business.

Rated 4.0 The lunch buffet is a good deal. Not the best, not the worst Indian food.

Rated 3.0 Used to be good. Now the servers are kind of weird and food isn't that good

Rated 5.0 I eat a lot of Indian food, and this place is absolutely great. The interior is nice. There's parking, which makes this a needle in the haystack for Chapel Hill. The food is phenomenal. What sets this place apart, though, is how wonderful the service was. Four to five-star service at a two-dollar-sign restaurant. Can't remember the last time someone waited on me so politely and was so friendly - everyone in the restaurant had a great attitude. Will definitely return!

Rated 4.0 New owners, new buffet menu. In the past the lunch buffet was like groundhog day. You couldn't distinguish one visit from any other (being in the dark basement of the building added to that problem). I actually liked the old dishes, and had figured out how to get what I wanted from what they were. But it varies now, mostly to the better. They sometimes run low on some foods since they aren't that busy and are open pretty late for lunch, but if you ask fresh food will be brought to the table. The basement atmosphere is still a bit of bummer and mostly the reason for one lost star. A basement is a basement and there is little they can do about it except try to overwhelm that limitation with better or less expensive food. I'd say they are not there yet, but getting there....
