Rated 4.0 Food was solid 3. I had the mixed seafood grill. Ordered the tuna med-rare but was a bit over but still flavorful. Hubs got the shrimp and grits, also good. Shrimp and scallops were good. Service was GREAT so I bumped them up to 4 stars. Interesting theme/decor. This place is big and busy so get there early to get your name on the list. I'd go back there if I make it back to the island one day.

Rated 3.0 Tasty food... A little pricey. My Cobb salad was $23 but it included lump crab, shrimp, chicken and pork belly. There was a very very small portion of lump crabmeat in the salad which I was a little disappointed about. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer and they were very small also. The overall quality of the food was tasty and fresh but a little expensive for what you get.

Rated 1.0 Horrible Horrible Horrible....., Over priced, crowded, crappy beer selection, crappy food. Atmosphere is nice. Food was crap. I make a better meal at home. Long wait to have bad food. Definitely a tourist trap.. Go somewhere else if you want fresh good seafood...,,

Rated 3.0 Four of us had a late dinner here. The staff was very accommodating and service was fast. Food was not bad but decor was a total turn-off. It was a major challenge for me to look past the mosquito theme; it was unappetizing, to say the least. There was a customer picking up take-out so it must be one of the few good food options in the area. However I would not be excited to revisit. I think there is potential but it wasn't my cup of tea.

Rated 2.0 After reading what everyone said, we really wanted to try Amos Mosquitos. In a nutshell, the service by Sassy was impeccable, the medium-rare fillet was cooked perfectly, the fried pickles were good, and the crab cakes were the worse we have ever eaten. We waited for 45 minutes. If you go after 7:00, the wait is much less. I don't think we'll be going back.

Rated 5.0 Hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced! From the moment you walk in and are greeted by one of the owners that works at all times, to the time you get a drink at the bar, to your server making sure you are taken care of, to the delicious food. I have been to Amos countless times and NEVER had a bad visit. They are a upscale restaurant complete with southern hospitality without the fuss of a uptight dining experience. The Lobster dip, Mixed grill, shrimp and grits, and Scalloped Scallops are just a few of our favorites. Seriously, you've gotta try this place out, you won't regret it.

Rated 5.0 Eat here!! It is a must while in the area. Get there early because the line starts before they open for dinner. We sat at the bar and just had an appetizer and dessert. But holy fries pickles!!! Sooo good... You must order this! The smores weren't to shabby either. Definitely coming back again next time we are at the beach.

Rated 5.0 Twelve is us stormed the place for a Thursday evening dinner. The wait was about an hour but in that time I had a couple of draft beers, talked with a lovely woman at the bar, and was thoroughly entertained in the outside dock area by the magician. The food was good and the menu had something for everyone. The wine selection was also decent. I had the grouper and enjoyed it. For a night out at the beach with a large group, AM's was a hit!

Rated 5.0 Holy cow... AMAZING... worth the wait by far! You know a resturaunt is good when you are willing to add to the bill to add merchandise. The meatloaf=to die for, the pork chops= mmmm dang good, and the service was exceptional, not to mention the dessert! IF YOU GOTO ATLANTIC BEACH OR EVEN IN THE AREA, YOU MUST EAT HERE!!

Rated 5.0 Worth the wait! We came about 6:45p on a Sunday evening, and we were seated within the estimated time frame of an hour. The rocking chairs on the porch helped with the waiting. Waitstaff was very friendly, food came out fast and hot. We had the Lobster Dip and Conch Puppies - both were yummy. My husband had one of the specials - Southern Rockefeller Ribeye, I had the Mediterranean Seafood Pasta - both were delicious!! Kids all had pasta and we all were too full for dessert. Cute place, great food -- good things come to those who wait!!

Rated 5.0 We were reluctant to go here but it was suggested. A short 10 min wait and we were seated. The servers name was Sassy and she exceptional. Drinks and food were brought quickly. We had Coconut shrimp appetizer, followed by shrimp & Grits, Jamaican jerk chicken and a rib eye steak. All were great. We will definitely come here again.

Rated 5.0 Always the first place I go to eat at Atlantic Beach!! Try the Big Bad Skeeter (split 2 ways) with fried flounder, scallops and shrimp. Order a salad just to try their blue cheese dressing!! Watch out for the firecrackers and leave room for smores or the best key lime pie in this area!!

Rated 5.0 Worth the wait! Get there early and just have a drink. It's worth the small 5pm line. The line moves fast as you get your beeper then you can relax out front or cocktail your cares away. It's worth it. Love love love the food! The best service on the strip. This has a casual edge that doesn't intimidate... even though, they're serving up luxury (at a better price than most!,) they aren't pretentious at all, just well mannered! Excellent service food atmosphere and cocktails! Have a drink while you wait!

Rated 5.0 Delicious food. Wait is too long, they need to take reservations or call ahead seating to make it a five star. Kids loved their food too!

Rated 3.0 Theres no reservations at this restaurant, they open at 5pm, and apparently there is a line starting to form at around 4:30 during the busy season. They have several areas to sit while you wait for your table, this was nice of them to provide since you will most likely have a wait. Also, there is an overflow parking lot if the small lot in front of the restaurant is full. The most memorable thing about this restaurant is the wait. In my opinion, the meal was not worth the 1.5 hour wait. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. Yeah, nothing really notable to relay here.

Rated 4.0 Amos Mosquitos is a mosquito themed restaurant with employees dressed as exterminators wearing catchy name tags. They really went into detail by having their logo, which is a mosquito, branded on everything from the backs of the chairs, beverage napkins to glassware. Sounds kind of strange, right? Well it worked for them. I enjoyed the ambience. The food and service from "Bubba" was excellent. We ordered several appetizers and two entrees. We had the fried pickles, warm cheesy lobster dip, oyster Rockefeller, crab cakes, calamari, tuna, and fried boneless pork chops with gravy. The lobster dip was ooey, gooey, and dripping with cheese and served with toasted baguettes. It was delicious. The pork chops were out of this world. Tasted just like Grammies. The fried pickle chips were thick and soggy. They had much potential but not quite there yet. Be prepared to wait an hour plus. They don't offer reservations or call ahead seating. There's a dock with a gazebo and plenty of seating inside and out while you wait for your table. Just Grab a drink from the bar and hangout by the water. Time will fly by. Thursday night is sushi night. From what I heard its fresh and delicious and even longer wait times. Keep that in mind when you're heading up on a Thursday night.

Rated 5.0 Casual but classy seafood restaurant right by the water. Good food, and a great ambience for a date. Stopped in for dinner with my boyfriend while we were on vacation in nearby Emerald Isle. The place opens at 5 PM; we arrived at about 5:30 (on a Sunday), and there was already 45 minute wait. (So, definitely be sure to arrive early if you don't like waiting! This place is apparently very popular.) We tend to be a bit impatient, but waiting was not bad at all here. You can get a drink (Piña Colada!) at the bar and taking it out to the patio overlooking the sound. There was even a magician who made the rounds, entertaining everyone who was waiting. Our wait also turned out to be shorter than expected; we were seated after about 30 minutes. Once we got seated, our waitress was "Daisy Mae." (We asked and, no, their names are not real.) She was very attentive. We both started out with Caesar Salads. As for the main dish, I ordered a daily special: Panko-Crusted Grouper w/ Jalapeño-Infused Hollandaise, Green Beans & Mashed Potatoes. I liked it a lot but, if I went back, I'd definitely order what my boyfriend had: the Mixed Seafood Grill (w/ Shrimps, Scallops, and Yellowfin Tuna). The seafood was fresh, delicious, well-seasoned, and well-cooked. Nice work, chefs! As a side note, my boyfriend is gluten-free (Celiac) and had absolutely no trouble eating here. Our waitress was knowledgeable and advised my boyfriend without missing a beat. She was actually so quick on her feet that, when my boyfriend ordered a Caesar Salad, she said: "No croutons?" before he even had a chance to request it. (Really, awesome job!) Overall, 5/5. Seriously, order the Mixed Seafood Grill!

Rated 5.0 Didn't mind the bite of this skeeter. Was very good actually. Really dig the atmosphere here. Not sure what to expect from the outside, but experience is really transformed on the inside. Beer selection was great, and then it continued on with excellent appetizers, and even better entrées. Menu was a bit limited, but I'd rather it be that way and great, than muddied up try to do too much. Crab cakes, homemade chips with blue cheese sauce, and fried pickle lollipops were the great appetizers we tried. They know how to cook a steak, but only complaint would be the ahi tuna portion was a little too thick so the searing wasn't fully effective when getting medium rare instead of rare. Fake waitress names are a little hokey, but they were very nice. Rest of staff extremely polite. Place is clean and not that noisy.

Rated 5.0 This is the 3rd time my wife and I have visited, and it never seizes to amaze us every time. I love soft shell crab and this is always on their menu! Everything from the customer service to the amazing atmosphere, you can't go wrong here. It can be on the pricey side for a large family, but it's expected for the top notch experience! I had the complete opposite experience at the Island Grill the next night and actually left. Too bad it was a Monday because I would have gone back to Amos for a 2nd night in a row!

Rated 5.0 I have avoided this highly-hyped, themed restaurant for several years as I have found most such joints disappointing. After enjoying their succulent red snapper special last night, I must say that I should have eaten here much sooner. I did choose to try it for the first time on a fairly slow Sunday evening, which meant that we only had to wait 15 minutes for the first available table for two. We ended up in the bar area which was comfortable and attractive. Service was outstanding as billed. All wait staff are dressed as exterminators and even the bathrooms continue the theme echoing the nighttime sounds of frogs, crickets and, of course, skeeters buzzing. In fact, it was almost Disneyesque. The menu is simple but diverse. My red snapper was absolutely delicious and the serving size was enormous. It consisted of a very large slab of fresh local fish atop horseradish mashed potatoes all crowned with minced crab and baby asparagus. As usual with local red snapper, it was pricey at $29. My friend ordered the the three item seafood combo consisting of fried shrimp and flounder and broiled cajun scallops. It was served with fries and cole slaw. All very tasty at $25.99. We both enjoyed fresh salads with homemade dressings prior to our entrees. Fresh bread was also served and was acceptable. We thought we were finished until our server presented a dessert menu and emphasized that all deserts were made in house. Yikes! We couldn't resist. I had the dark chocolate creme brulee and he had the key lime pie. Both were incredible! My only regret is that I didn't have room for the freshly made pound cake with berries. I will plan to eat here several times on my next trip to the area just so I can try more of the dessert menu. If you haven't already, you've gotta try this place out. Just be sure to get there early and be ready to drop a bundle.
