Beach Road Chicken Dinners

Rated 5.0 As one reviewer said, "This place used to be REALLY great in the 1970's, but is now just very good." I could say the same about myself. Last night, 10/29/15 - the chicken was very good, the mashed potatoes, the gravy, and the creamed peas were divine, the rice was dried out and dumb, and the biscuits were ordinary. They had been out of lemons for two days. Will any of this stop me from returning? Not at all. It's still the best fried chicken in town.

Rated 4.0 We visited again while in the area for Thanksgiving.... They seem to have changed the cream peas recipe but it could have been that batch. The gravy was awesome as usual and the chicken was good. It is an old timely Florida restaurant that has only changed for the better over time with expanded takeout. Staff still friendly.

Rated 5.0 Our server Jason, obviously knows the menu inside and out, he made great recommendations and suggestions. We ordered the Basic Chicken Dinner, the sides items are served family style, you pick a starch, potato or rice, all dinners come with creamed sweet peas, biscuits and homemade chicken gravy.

Rated 5.0 If you want a true southern fried chicken meal, this is the place to go. This place was there practically before Jacksonville was a city. Family style servings.
