It all began in the 1960s in Haldwani, District Nainital, when the late S. Attar Singh Chawla, while experimenting with one of his favorite recipes in a restaurant during his free time, created something extraordinary — Chawla’s2 Cream Chicken. What started as a simple recipe improvement turned into a legendary dish that would stand the test of time. This unique dish is unlike any other due to its ingredients — no red chilies or vegetable oils are used. Instead, it is prepared with milk, cream, black pepper, and green cardamom, giving it a light, delicate flavor that is easy on the stomach and easily digestible. Served with bread and mint chutney, Chawla’s2 Cream Chicken has become a beloved dish, so much so that many customers prefer to take it home to enjoy with their families. Over the years, the exotic flavors of Chawla’s2 cuisine have captivated the Indian palate. As one of the largest food chains in India, Chawla’s2 has been serving authentic Indian cuisine for decades, with millions of satisfied customers. The first branch opened in Ludhiana on March 17, 1985, followed by a successful restaurant in Chandigarh in 1991, leading to expansion across Punjab and northern India.
