Sumathi is more than an excellent Agent. She truly looks out for her clients’ best interest, and makes you feel like her only client. The previous review (John Kelleher) was for a house that we were hoping to buy. My husband and I were beyond excited when our offer was accepted for his house and we were already envisioning our 8 month old’s first Christmas and New years in this house. So we were deeply heartbroken when we learned how inflexible the homeowners were. We knew they were trying to move quickly so we agreed to all their timelines including attempting to schedule a home inspection that same week (Offer was accepted Wednesday, attempted to inspect that Friday) however due to scheduling had the home inspection the Wednesday after. During the inspection our inspector with over 40 years experience pointed out the age of the roof (disclosed as unknown by seller), the age of the furnace (26 years) and the peeling siding as the major fixes. Unfortunately these updates made the house too expensive for our budget. When asked if they could repair, offer a credit or come down on price based on these findings, but they were completely unflexible in every aspect. In fact they even stated the following: “the roof age is simply completely false and that we’re welcome to have professional verify it”  “they were aware of what the house looked like when they put an offer in” “the furnace is functioning and will not replace an item that is functioning properly”.  Unfortunately waiting for a furnace to break down in the dead of winter was not a risk we wanted to take with a baby. When we asked for evidence of the roof being done sooner, we were sent an unsigned roof proposal from 22 years ago, with only a 20 year workmanship guarantee. Due to these major items and lack of flexibility of the seller, we were told by their realtor Saturday morning (3 days after inspection) at 8:30am, “Have the release signed immediately. I want it back on the market by 9AM. Which we did sign that day and the house was back on the market only 3 days after the inspection. I understand it’s frustrating as a seller when a home inspector tells you your house needs work and I do wish the sellers luck in selling their home and hope they get the price they are looking for, but it was by no means held hostage. If we could afford the asking price and all the major fixes we would have, as we loved the house.  I’m so grateful we had Sumathi to handle negotiations, but most importantly save us from a money pit. I cannot recommend Sumathi enough. Not only does she know the market, but she is really there to ensure her clients are getting the best.

Sumathi is the reason we got our dream home in our dream neighborhood. She was also crucial in selling our previous home. She is a top agent and we would highly recommend her to anybody. All you need to do is describe to her what your priorities are when buying a home and she'll take care of the rest.
