Rated 4.0 The lunch buffet is my favorite and it's super cheap ($9.99). I go here regularly with my coworkers for lunch and usually leave with a food coma. The restaurant is pretty no frills and it's easy to miss on St. Paul Street, but the food is always delicious and filling, plus there are lots of vegetarian options. The service by the wait staff can be spotty and leave something to be desired, but overall I would continue to go back and to tell people about it.

Rated 5.0 Authentic Nepali and Indian kitchen with a welcoming staff and great mood to it. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 3.0 I came for the $10 lunch buffet. Honestly, the place isn't very different from the typical Indian restaurant in America. The food is okay, but it's very heavy and you end up feeling full for the rest of the day. Good for a quick, cheap buffet, but don't expect anything amazing.

Rated 5.0 I love this place so much! Great service and food. I always get the meat samosas with plain or garlic Naan. The owners are so sweet and nice. I always order pick up and it's ready way faster than what the expected time will show on Eat24.

Rated 4.0 This was my wife and I first time here. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our table provided a fantastic second story view overlooking the street!

Rated 5.0 LOVE this Indian buffet!!! So many options and everything is so delicious! The price is so reasonable too and the service is really warm and efficient. This is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a wide variety of different Indian foods. If you want to only eat chicken tikka masala and naan you can, but I would say this Indian buffet is a great place to try some new dishes too without having to order full orders of meals. Surprisingly, one of my favorite things about KUMARI is their tea! It's really milky and sweet and yummy, but it's addicting and the perfect complement to your food. I love coming here for an early lunch on some weekends and having a long, luxurious lunch and then drink some tea and chat for a little longer. You'll definitely need some time to digest, this place will make you so full for the rest of the day! One last note, my friend said this place is very vegetarian friendly and he still has lots of dishes to choose from.

Rated 5.0 I am a big fan of this place. The food is always fresh, the helpings make my tummy happy and the prices are very realistic. That is what I am aiming for - places that do not cut corners. This will be my *Go-to* when I go out for Indian. Last time I ate here, I got salmon tikka masala (Yumm, I should get it spicier next time) and a side of garlic naan. 21 bucks. Boom - 2 helpings of goodness. Just for me because sharing is for suckers. VERY happy

Rated 3.0 Froze my bottom off while eating lunch here a few days before Christmas. Not sure what all the wonderful reviews were, as the food here was just average. chicken was a bit dry, but naan was nice and fresh. The servers were very prompt though and picked a dirty dish off of my table right away, and refilled the water glass quickly. Wish they had samosas on the buffet for lunch. I heard people at the table next to me also comment about it being cold. Did they not pay their heating bill this month? If I wasn't so cold eating my lunch, I may have had a more enjoyable experience.

Rated 5.0 Delightful place with gentle decor and food that will indulge your palate. They start with a delightful medley of chutneys and crisp papadums (attentive waitstaff replenished the papadums we quickly devoured - an extra star just for that). They are less than a mile from Baltimore Penn station and there are a couple of other Indian restaurants in the immediate vicinity but we found this to be, by far, the best We ordered chat papadi and all the ingredients were fresh and savory. Yellow lentils were cooked to perfection and had the right aroma. Palaak Paneer was just ummm good - fresh paneer and Palaak tendered to perfection. Tandoori rotis were thin and crisp - no lumpy uncooked batter that is typical of many other Indian places. To top it all, the staff was about the most polite I have seen. Parking can be a pain but there are private parking lots for $10. Overall, wonderful dining experience - keep it up!

Rated 5.0 I've been here for the lunch buffet twice. Amazing service - constantly refilling my water and removing used plates when I get up to grab my next serving. The food is so good. I love the chicken tikki masala, goat curry, and lamb curry. They also change up their selection so it doesn't get boring. Would definitely come again.

Rated 4.0 Kumari's probably offers one of the best Indian lunch buffets in Baltimore. Prices are inexpensive (around $12). Seating is plentiful. There's a good variety of food. Quality is great. It also offers the most meat I've seen among the Charles Street Indian buffets. Big fan of the goat curry and the fried fish. Naan, of course, is a beloved staple. The Nepal tea is quite sweet, which is definitely up my alley.

Rated 5.0 Please do yourself a favor and eat here. DELICIOUS FOOD!!!! I used to order from Nepal house and the food was subpar. This is my new Indian cuisine spot. Every time I've ordered its been hot and delicious and you can taste the freshness.

Rated 5.0 Good lunch buffet. Very busy place. Tea was delicious but didn't get refilled very often. Chicken and naan great. The don't always pay attention to you for water refills, just waive the server down.

Rated 4.0 I ordered the chicken tikka masala, rice, and garlic naan. The food was delicious. I thought delivery time was a bit long; it was over an hour but I was starving so that didn't help. Food was great and lasted me two days despite the tikka masala being mostly sauce. Considering the tikka masala costs $15, I was expecting a LOT more in portions. If the servings were bigger, I would give this 5 stars.

Rated 5.0 Excellent food and service. Nepali khaja was an unusual dish with flat rice(poha). Unusual in a good way, it was very interesting to see plain poha as an appetizer. I had Aloo tama which was a delicious soup with surprising amount of potatoes. And Ofcourse, for main course had dal bhat, my favorite Nepali dish.

Rated 4.0 I've eaten food from Kumari several times since my original review, and I'm glad I gave it another chance because the food has been really good every time! Maybe it was an off day when I went the first time, but ever since the sauces have been great, the meat tender, and the portions large. The chicken tikka masala and the malai kofta have been major standouts. The malai kofta is these dumplings of vegetables in a cashew sauce- I've never had this anywhere else, and it's great. Kumari has become my go-to for Indian food in Mount Vernon. Delivery time is usually pretty quick, in my experience.

Rated 4.0 Have had Kumari multiple times now. The food is good, and definitely one of the better Indian cuisine restaurants in the Mount Vernon Area. I will say though, eating in is definitely better than delivery. Delivery is just so-so. Usually, if you order the chicken Tiki-Marsala or anything of the like, you get a takeout bowl that's pretty much 85-90% Sauce, 10-15% chicken. For a dish that costs about $15, I'm not sure if its worth it for delivery. The food is good though. I feel as though the portion sizes have progressively gotten smaller though, while the prices have steadily increased. I would definitely eat here again, and all-in-all, it's a good restaurant.

Rated 4.0 I get the Chicken Tikka Masala like once a week. This place has put a dent in my wallet, because the food is just so good. I have been a loyal customer - getting food from them for the last three years! The only reason it is getting 4 stars rather than 5 stars is- about 1 of every 4-5 times I order - the meal is not as excellent as it usually is. The chicken tastes old, and the rice just doesn't taste right. I have stuck to purchasing only on weekends rather than weekdays. I notice it's usually Mondays-Thurs evenings when the food just isn't as great.

Rated 5.0 Kumari has my favorite lunch buffet of all time. It's always so delicious and so reasonably priced. I've never had to wait for a table, and the service is always super speedy. The tea is the best part!

Rated 4.0 I returned here after almost two years because my friend still insists it's the best lndian lunch buffet im Baltimore and I really enjoyed my meal! I guess last time was just an off day. Good idea to get there around noon. There's a ton of variety, and all the food was delicious. Highlights -Goat meat curry - my fave! -Gobi (cauliflower) manchurian - fried sweet and sour goodness -Palak paneer actually had a lot of paneer and flavor! -Chicken biryani -Chai tea - a little too sweet, but delicious

Rated 4.0 I've been here for both lunch and dinner services. I enjoyed the lunch better because you pay a flat rate and can try as much food as you'd like! I love that they're vegetarian friendly. I always love the okra. Their Samosa was a little dry for my liking. The garlic naan bread is great and goes with all of the currys and vegetables they have. The dinner menu was hard for us to understand since it was our first time eating Indian food. The waiter was kind of unhelpful and honestly didn't seem interested in having us there. Maybe he was having a bad day or that's just how he is. The food came out quickly and was veryOverall this is a good restaurant for Indian food. Would definitely go again.

Rated 4.0 This review is for takeout/delivery only. It's about $12-17 per dish and both the containers were packed with food. I tried the chicken saag and the chicken biryani, which were both very generous in the chicken portions, though the meat was a bit dry. I would not seek out Kumari specifically, but I would include them in my takeout choices, especially since the food came quickly and it came hot. I prefer Kumari to Akbar and Himalayan Bistro, but not over Nepal House. I also think it's good for the downtown Baltimore area, but it is by no means close to the best Indian food I've had.

Rated 3.0 They market themselves as Asian fusion They are classic Indian dishes with a twist and dumplings It was good, but I didn't love the twist on the staples. Great service and very clean, just not my cup of tea

Rated 5.0 One of the better Nepali/Indian places I've been to. I was lucky to go with a few people, so we split two of the Nepali specialty platters and threw in an order of shrimp korma coconut korma. The waiter talked us into an order of Chicken Mo Mos. The momos came steamed and were tasty and well done. The dough on the outside of these little dumplings was tough enough to not fall apart, but still tender. The chicken stuffing on the inside was good - but not amazing. The sauce it came with brought the whole thing together, bringing it fro so-so to momomazing. The Kumari Specials came out in a metal lunch tray that looked surprisingly classy. We got one spicy the other medium. Both were really flavorful, though the spicy was really on the spicy side - so stick with medium unless you like extra heat. It won't impact the taste at all to go medium. I loved getting to try the wide variety of items on the plates. The winner of the night goes to the Shrimp Korma. We opted for coconut korma version - and I strongly recommend this dish. The shrimp were large and flavorful, holding up even against the boldness of the korma sauce it was served in. I'll be getting that again - probably soon. On a Thursday at 7 parking is scarce, but the restaurant is large and there were only a few other tables filled up. A few people came in for take out. Considering how often this place is recommended to me, I was expecting a wait. Maybe on the weekends?
