About Superkhana International

A modern spin on classic Indian dishes, Super khana International is a collaboration based on a mutual love of the Indian kitchen and local food. A joint venture between chefs Yoshi Yamada, Zeeshan Shah and Jason Hammel, Superkhana International is located in one of Chicago’s newest burgeoning pockets of eclectic shops and restaurants emerging in the Logan Square neighborhood. Chefs Zeeshan Shah and Yoshi Yamada instantly clicked when they met cooking at a James Beard House dinner in New York City in 2014. That 16-hour work day ignited what has become the duo’s lasting partnership in the kitchen. In 2015, they held their first successful Bombay Breakdown pop-up. The repeating, multi-course Bombay Breakdown pop-up continued at Ampersand and the Long Room, as well as a weekly stand at the Logan Square Farmers Market. Bombay Breakdown gave Yoshi and Zeeshan a platform to help gain a loyal following for their approach to Indian cuisine. Superkhana International reflects their culinary sensibilities and is a natural evolution of their popular pop-up. Yoshi and Zeeshan celebrate Indian and American cooking through texture, brightness, lightness, depth, deliciousness, Indian flavors and local ingredients. Superkhana International delves into our chefs’ unique take on Indian cuisine through new avenues, including an extensive bread and fermentation program, as well as a playful bubbles list curated by Beverage Director, Colleen Malone.
